27- Young
34- Christmas (Okafor's backup)
The Lakers have looked heavily at the backup C spot in pre-draft workouts and Christmas is the best out of those guys. I'd expect the team to pickup a backup PF but we'll see if they buy a pick to do that.

Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
I didn't watch Young at all, and I will do that but he is mocked around 40-50 why waste a 1st rounder for him.
My guys are Anderson(He won't be at 27 we gotta move up) and Tokoto, but I also like Wright, Powell, Christmas and Upsaw too. I'm more excited about the late picks because this is where you get the gems like Green, Mcdaniels, Parsons and many many more.

Drafting Upshaw and Christmas or any big seems like a need now with the team not exercising Hill's option.

Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
While I suspect we'll get an additional big somewhere in this draft, Hill's option has no bearing on what we do because I don't see him being a part of our team going forward

Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
If we get okafor, we should draft wings on the next 2 picks and hope one of them if not both, pan out. If we draft russell, then we can risk one pick on a big. But im hoping to get a 3&d type player with the 27th or 34th.

Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
I still think packaging both picks to move up would be better than 2 more young guys to develop who likely won't see many minutes at the 3rd string.
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick?
Fultz, Ball or Bust

Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
We need some vets behind our young front court (assuming we draft a big at #2), which is why I like the idea of bringing back Boozer and adding a vet C or just rolling with Sacre, which I really don't want to do as it'd be great for Okafor to have a defensive-minded vet C that could help him anchor the defense. Maybe an asst coach could do that though, MAD DOG MAD DOG MAD DOG!

Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
Wondering what team would be open to trading down for our 27 and 34. Cleveland seems to want to trade out for a vet. Tough at the 18-25 range since most are playoff teams who want to win now rather than take 2 lower picks to develop. Unfortunately, we dont have much assets other than Clarkson for teams who want to trade out.
Any ideas?

You're talking about Rakeem Christmas? Dee Dee's younger brother? He's mentally shook, man.

Both mocks have us taking Delon with the 27th, what do you guys think of him and the fit?

I would be happy with RHJ, Anderson, or Wright at 27 but there is a chance they all go before then. If they do I can see rosier being the default. I think him and Larry nance Jr at 34 might be it. Larry has amazing hops, nice size, pedigree, reminds me a lil of Luke

I still don't understand the love for RHJ. Sure, he plays good defense but aside from that what translates to the NBA? He's got a broken shot, and he's going to be a liability on the offensive end.

why not ?
for 3 mil (and i believe he will command more money in FA market), Boozer is a bargain. As for Sacre, he's a great 3rd center.

I see "move up," "trade up," etc. all through here.
Got a question for all of you who think we should "move up." Leaving the #2 pick, Kobe, Clarkson and Randle out of the discussion, as I doubt they'd trade any of the above, who and what are you packaging? MUCH MORE IMPORTANT: Who is going to take your deal and why?
I mean, I just want to know if anybody has any ideas about a realistic deal that could happen or if everyone's just blowing smoke in typical forum fashion.

If more people thought like I do, the world would be a much better place.

Agreed. I just don't see a package that another team is going to want. Teams looking to move down are teams that are likely not wanting to add a guaranteed contract this year, so adding 27 seems like redundant. So unless they plan on selling that pick for cash, #34 is the only real asset for me.

Right now, my pipe is Rashad Vaughn and Motrezl Harrell but that's not happening.

The whole idea is to use #27 & #34 and take some salary in return to move a couple of slots up if they like a player that could get picked before #27, like Justin Anderson. That's where the whole "MOVE UP" comes in. For example if Toronto doesn't like keeping Vasquez, you could do something like #27 + #34 for #20 + Vasquez ($7 mil in salary).
