I'll take him for a one yr deal at that amount if there isn't an attainable free agent worth a long term commitment

I'm torn if I'd rather sign him on that range or exercise Hill's option. Seems too high for me. 6-7's more reasonable for me.

With Hill you have to make the choice before free agency even starts though, makes it tough to make that commitment

Maybe they'll settle on 7m, but wouldn't Ed Davis' return affect bringing back Boozer?

What would our big man rotation be next year?

Randle/ Black / Kelly/ *Boozer?
Okafor-Towns/ Sacre/ *Davis?

I wonder how much Boozer would come back for
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

At this point, I'd rather decline on Hill's option unless there's a serious trade partner that would like him at a one year deal of 9m, otherwise I would decline the option as I prefer Davis over Hill, and still prefer both off the bench.

Boozers headed to Miami from what I read.

3 years, $8 million per is pretty good value especially when considering that the cap is going to rise. Lock him up!

He basically signed with us for free last year. Leveraging that, along with the fact the salary cap will go up after next season I think you can't let him walk.

Also "He has spent every weekday in the past month both in the weight room and attempting 400-600 jumpers with a new release in hopes to improve his game."

7-8 Million a year for 2-3 years? Of course.

Everyone will get overpaid with the pending cap spike. If people want to pay Koufos 7m why not Ed? However he's not a star nor a legitimate C. I would consider him if we draft Okafor. If we dont, we need a real C.

That's repeating the same stupidity of Lin, Hill, Wes. He's a fourth big on any good team and is a 5-6mil annually for 3 years at best. You have to get actual talent to attract talent, not rent 1 year overpaid trash and play it. We need a summer opposite of the last one. Invest that money in an actual big like Tyson who can actually play, teach, and proven himself. Invest it in guards like Dragic and rondo or a wing like Deng, green, and Carroll actual nba starters on most teams

At approx the same price, its not even up for debate. I'd take Davis 10/10 times.

I'd rather focus on players higher up on the pecking order. Tobias Harris, Greg Monroe, he'll I'd rather sign Rondo before I commit 8 million a year to Ed Davis

Obviously Davis is not going to be a priority for us, after we are done dealing with our priority targets then we turn our attention o second tier fa's based on actual need.

Its tougher for us because we are starting from scratch. We really need to make use of the negotiating period to fill in all the pieces.

I agree I rather have Ed back, but Mitch needs not to pull another Mitch and fumble with this like he usually does in the mle territory by giving Ed more years than he deserves like he did Geroge, Sasha, McKie, Walton, Radmanovic, and so on to the point he has to look to use picks to ship them off. I think a 17-20mil deal over 3 years should be where the convo starts and ends. No overpaying for a year like hill or giving out the full 4 years like he used to.

And 1 ... I wouldn't bring Ed or Jordan back if Booz said he would take the room exception tbh

Ed Davis is rather good. Blocks shots, rebounds well and plays excellent pick and roll offense. That's a guy you pay just because even if he doesn't work out he is a trade asset down the road. He was infact one of the very few players on our roster that posted a +ve on both offensive and defensive BPM.

For the millionth time stop throwing around 2008-10 team references and move on.
