What a joke... three days before we have to travel for a real game.

MLSE is clearly friendlies before trophies. Make me sick how little they care.

I didn't even clue into that, that's brutal. Important game against Columbus too.

I feel bad for anyone who pays for this game but they better be resting their core players for this match.

If MLSE is going to continue with these friendlies then do it on a bye week. Talk to the league and make sure you have a bye in later in the season if you want to host friendlies.

Giovinco is making a fool out of MLS backlines week in and week out. If they commit, he beats them, and if they sag and give him space, he is placing balls with pin point precision.

Yet, lost in the Givinco show is the brilliance of Cheyrou, and the growth of Morgan ad Osorio. Cheyrou has been a great signing, and Bez deserves his props for that. But as a Canadian, it makes me so happy to see Osorio shining again after playing out of position last season, and I can't tell you how proud I am of Morgan with the way he has finally elevated his game, and is showing us why Winter so strongly believed in him when he was just 19 years old.

And finally, props to Vanney. It would have been easy - and logical - to defend the tie and walk out of DC with a draw. Yet, he goes ahead and makes two offensive substitutions to win the game.

I don't want to jinx it by looking too far ahead. But this Giovinco is just in another class in the MLS. This is the guy TFC fans have suffered so long waiting for.

We just have to hope he remains happy in Toronto.

Scoring & winning should do that. Though I'm guessing we'll only have him for one more season before he starts looking towards home again.

Fiorentina was interested during the January transfer window, but he chose TFC. The beauty of the Giovinco deal was that he had some good options, with Monaco, Liverpool, and Fiorentina as confirmed suitors. He choose TO, so the allure of Europe may loom less large with him than others.

We have two things going for us here:
1. No one is paying him what we are for the next few years. That alone could keep him here.
2. If you're going to be a foreigner in Toronto, being an Italian is a pretty good position to be in.

Really, the only thing that could unsettle him would be a lack of NT call-ups. If he gets a call up to the NT while playing in Toronto, and earns a place on the squad, I don't see him going anywhere. Come on Conte, do us a solid!

Italy are hurting badly for a striker who can score reliably. Conte had a mini-camp last week and I really expected Giovinco to get a call-up, but Conte opted for some players who I would hope never represent the Italian NT (Paloschi/Caligiuri)... things don't look good for Seba now and it's a shame since the only thing holding him back while at Juve was a lack of confidence.
Hopefully this doesn't cause him to leave TFC but I doubt it will. He is getting more money than he would anywhere else and should have figured that the move would hurt his chances for the next Euro and World Cup

Conte seemed like the one guy that really believed in him, and I read that they have a good relationship. Hopefully he'll get a call up at some point. With that said, I think it was Bezbechenko who said when they signed Giovinco, he understood that the move may hurt his chances for the national team and was prepared for it.

Everytime this team has a showcase game, it never shows up. Extremely frustrating.

The referee had no control over the game. The environment was pretty hostile.

Well said.

Every time I think this team is moving forward we find a way to take a step back.

We need to be more consistent.
