Re: Wade and Lakers have mutual interest
Leverage by Wade.
Impossible. His whole issue with the Heat is he wants more than they're wanting to pay him. He wants the same treatment by the Heat that Kobe got with us two years ago. He's not leaving 10-15M a season to come to us and get either the same or less.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Now if we're willing to throw a max deal at him, I'm sure he'd be glad to come. But, if we did that, that's totally countering everything Mitch has said all along that he's not just going to bring veterans at big dollars in here just to make the playoffs.

Makes no sense, nothing to see here. Although it would be sick as hell just to see Wade in a Laker jersey.

We don't need an injury prone twilight of his career superstar. Haven't we got burned enough for Nash?

Re: Wade and Lakers have mutual interest
Obviously this is wade's agent trying to get leverage. Is this Steve Nash part 2 lol? If kobe and wade were both healthy it would be 2 old guys that can't play D again on the same squad. Both would probably stuff the stat sheets and yet again we'd be struggling for an 8th seed. But it would be great seeing 2 legends like Kobe and Wade on the same team. I think wade's got enough in the tank to be a 20-5-5 player for a couple more years. He can't shoot the 3 anymore or play d like he used to on a nightly basis, but in the playoffs I think he's still got some stuff left in the tank. I think he could be that bridge between the Lakers young core going from being inexperienced good players to guys with playoff experience.
But max money? We'd go after dragic before wade and I doubt we'd even commit to any max contract this summer.

Homie tryna get paid. I'd rather steal Dragic with a max contract offer.

Re: Wade and Lakers have mutual interest
this is your typical mention lakers and some guy, get more hits. Never fails, even no name scrubs have used us for their gains. Wade wants multiple year contract probably at 13-15mill per, I'm pretty sure Mitch isn't stupid enough to give him that. I dont mind getting wade but at best 3yrs 30mill with 3rd year being either team option or not fully gauranteed so we could have chance to trade him then. Otherwise he can stay in Mia.

Re: Wade and Lakers have mutual interest
He's not worth $20 million a year anymore. Wade is brittle and can't be depended on for more than 60 games. Yes, there were stretches throughout last season where he would score 25 or more points a game at about 50% from the field, but he would go down at the worst possible time for Miami. The Lakers would be better served throwing their money elsewhere.
Dwyane Wade missed 20 games on a team that missed the playoffs by two games. His days of consistent health are over and done with. Miami needed him for at least 75 to have a chance. He played 62, and that was supposedly after a rigorous offseason in which he came back in great shape. He's not going to improve from here on out. It's a bad investment.
With Kobe's suddenly checkered health, it wouldn't be wise for LA to tie up most of their wing money on two aging talents that likely won't play a full season anymore. Focus the funds on filling out the roster with more dependable talent to surround Kobe, Randle, Clarkson, and Okafor/Russell/Towns with. LA's return to championship contention won't be with Wade in town.

Half leverage, half respect IMO
Wade opted out last year to try and make room for bosh, Bron, and a 4th. He took it on the chin for the team, which is what he did for the big 3 to form too as he took less when he was the proven one amongst them. The heat offered him less cash last summer. They've said they won't commit big money to him if he opts out, not even a 1 year max, which as Stephen A Smith has said would solve all the problems. Max wade for one year, let him get his dough and loyalty pay, then sign for less and recruit KD next summer. They expect wade to not opt out and sit back while Dragic and Deng both eat this summer at the table, bosh got a max, and Whiteside gets paid. He's always the one sacrificing for the name on the front in Miami and his sacrifices hasn't resulted in anything but cost cutting like amnestying Miller.
Wade I think would come here for 17-18 mil per year for 2 years. Honestly it wouldn't be a terrible investment. He's got game left in him, more game left in him than 80% of the league will ever have in their body as he showed last year. He also is a good middle ground really if you truly think Kobe will retire next summer. Wade plus a developed Randle, Clarkson, and Okafor who have been around two multiple time vets and champions plus cap space would be a way to at least make KD pause and think about it if he's the main end game.
I prefer getting Dragic just because I think he will be like Kidd, Billups, and Nash, and hit his stride at 30, but I would take wade. One thing is for sure though ... Its unlikely Wade, Dragic, and Deng all are retained as Deng is looking to opt out to, just like Wade and Dragic, and pat doesn't want to pay or make the money work ... He wants them to sacrifice for the family like he tried to bs Bron and Bosh into doing last summer

Scott is the dumbass who didn't want 3s remember? That's the perfect half court, grind it out, and minimize possession team.

I wont buy into anything. Yes we have interest. But at max? I doubt it. We're not even allowed to officially negotiate. I'd say that we want him to opt out just so Dragic would be more open to discussions and more open to leaving. I'd wait for him to actually opt out before considering this.

Spo runs practice like Riley did though, so that plays a factor in games played. As long as Scott doesn't go dummy and run his team to death in practice like he did in one game last year where guys were missing lay ups lol from fatigue it could work.
Rondo, Wade, and Kobe would probably by the meanest, nastiest group of cut throat vets you could put together though

Re: Wade and Lakers have mutual interest
I think I'm okay with Wade now that I've thought it through.
Wade and Kobe can coexist.
I don't mind paying him the money either, especially if we can't land anyone else (Love, LMA, Gasol).
Kobe is a SF at this point anyways.
Who would you double team? The opposite guy would kill you. As long as they can stay healthy.
I think I like it.
To bad it won't ever happen.

Re: Wade and Lakers have mutual interest
This is nothing more than Wade's agent trying to balk the Heat, it never fails....mention "Lakers" and teams go all panic mode and concede to that players demands. Wade ain't leaving Miami for LA, and if he left he'll stick it to Riley by going to Cleveland or home to Chicago.
