Tom Brady - QB - Patriots
CSN New England's Mike Giardi reports the Patriots are "bracing for the worst" regarding DeflateGate discipline for Tom Brady and are "fearful" of a 6-8 game suspension.
To this point, only a 1-2 game has been feared amongst NFL observers. A 6-8 ban would be wildly harsh from a league that suspended Ray Rice just two games after he rendered his fiancee unconscious with a punch to the face in an elevator. Brady wanted footballs deflated to get a better grip. The possibility of a lengthy suspension makes Brady -- and Rob Gronkowski, Brandon LaFell, and Julian Edelman -- high-risk propositions in fantasy leagues that draft early. 2014 second-round pick Jimmy Garoppolo is next up on New England's quarterback depth chart.

Re: Around the NFL
They could make a serious push for AP now. It's worth it IMO:
Jerry Jones - Owner - Cowboys
In a radio interview, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn't rule out the possibility of trading Dallas' 2016 first-round pick for a running back.
Dallas' current backfield is comprised of scrap-heap runners and Joseph Randle, who was effective in a lightly used change-up-back role last season but doesn't project as a volume runner. The Cowboys believe they essentially got three first-round picks this year in Byron Jones, Randy Gregory, and La'El Collins, and may be willing to part with their 2016 round-one selection. "I'd be reluctant to," Jones first conceded. "But certainly if the right situation came along that could improve us now, with where we are with (Tony) Romo, his career and where we are with what we've put together, it's a good time to go for it."

Tom Brady - QB - Patriots
Citing "several key sources," the New York Daily News reports Roger Goodell is expected to announce Tom Brady's suspension next week.
The Daily News' Gary Myers writes, "it is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him." Myers reports there is "little doubt" Goodell considers Brady's ball-deflation tactics "a serious violation," and that the Ted Wells investigation shows "Brady cheated." Myers' "feeling" is Brady will be suspended for only two games, which would be good news after CSN New England reported the Patriots are "bracing" for a 6-8 game ban. Myers hints that Bill Belichick may also face discipline for "ignorance" in the matter, a la Sean Payton following the BountyGate scandal.

Jameis Winston - QB - Buccaneers
Jameis Winston filed a counterclaim against Erica Kinsman, who filed a lawsuit in April accusing Winston of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment and intentionally inflicting emotional distress.
Winston is suing for defamation of character and tortious interference with prospective business advantage. This case is not going away anytime soon. A jury trial is likely forthcoming.

Saints signed WR Josh Morgan today after a tryout. That's a good system/team fit IMO. Granted I've been one of his bigger fans among those I know and had soft spot in my heart for him since his Niner days.

Michael Sam - DL - Free Agent
The Montreal Gazette is hearing DE Michael Sam left the CFL's Alouettes because he sensed he was going to get cut.
Sam walked away the team for "personal reasons" before their exhibition opener and is not expected back. From the Gazette: "The latest theory concerning Sam’s departure was that he simply wasn’t good enough to make the roster, sensed this and left to save himself and the organization embarrassment." It's looking more and more unlikely that Sam will become the NFL's first openly gay player.

Re: Around the NFL
According to the Associated Press, second-year WR Allen Robinson has been "unbelievable" at Jaguars OTAs.
Robinson -- who doesn't turn 22 until August -- has reportedly looked like a "star" at OTAs and minicamp, "showing big-play ability all over the field and most noticeably in and around the end zone." Blake Bortles described 6-foot-3, 210-pound Robinson as "fun to throw to." Bortles' passing inefficiency remains a concern, but Robinson is a sneaky bet to finish top ten in the NFL in targets this season. He's the clear-cut No. 1 pass option in Jacksonville.

I still have my bet on this guy being better than ODB

Over? It's never over. Michael Sam may not make it as an NFL player, but some young guy will continue the "quest to be the first gay player" storyline.
