Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread**
Let's just hope he doesn't pull a Len Bias on draft night. I know that may seem like bad taste, but just imagine how devastating that would be to this franchise.

We've had all the confirmation in the world from Jon K, Barreiro, Doogie, Jerry, etc but I just won't rest easy til Thursday night and Towns name is called.
Sure seems like it though, and I'm pumped!

The agents aren't quite that stupid anymore, they generally don't let you go trolling for coke in the outskirts of DC on their dime, until they get paid. I was living just outside of Baltimore when Bias OD'd, it was a bit crazy... His coke use was fairly well known to everyone who didn't work in management apparently. I think he would be a second round pick these days, like Upshaw.
His family was financially screwed as well, the endorsement deal, insurance, and the NBA contract don't take effect for 73 hours after being signed at the draft. So he died in the no coverage window, no insurance cash, no $1 million signing bonus, and no Adidas money. All because the fool liked doing coke.
Sam Cassell played at a HS a few miles down the road from mine, he was fricking awesome. That's about the only thing I miss from that town/state, memories of the Alien and the National Aquarium.

You know that with Flip, this may happen in the draft.
I mean it's funny, but it's not really like Flip at all. He's drafted beautifully so far.
It would be way more Kahn/Twolves past related though.
It would be perfect for the Cavs FO if they had another #1 pick somehow this year though.

First thing KG can show KAT is how to set up a proper hard screen...some of those in the Wisconsin game were damn weak a** screens.

Still debating if I want to drive the "30 minutes" during rush hour for the draft party. It's kind of funny, every other draft there was so many variables and waiting for the other picks to coming in and speculating how that would impact who we took. This year we find out within the first 15 minutes of the actual draft. I think I'm more interested to see what we do with our second rounders.

Light rail an option?

Well, I will trust in Flip's judgement and expect him to draft Towns. But I need to be a little pessimistic about that, just to not get frustrated at the draft.

That's not even funny.
We don't joke about things like that around here.

I always want to be able to hear the whole draft. From previous experiences being at the parties, I remember they would turn the draft off and drag out the talk about our pick with opinions from people in the room. It's cool and I understand why it's done, but when they decide to turn the draft back on, you end up missing a couple of the picks. I'm going to Huberts instead.

Depending on how bad rush hour is. It can take me 45 minutes from my house to the parking lot. If the light rail saves me from driving and a couple $ on parking, it might be worth it.

I don't know where you're at, but it takes me about 40 minutes to go 14 stops.

I'm not sure of the schedule or stops, but St. Paul is probably where I would be starting.

I'm not against taking the light rail, just giving my 2 cents. It's better than paying for parking. Plus you get a 30-40 min train ride to sober up if you're drinking.
What are you supposed to do there though, you watch the Wolves take Towns then just sit around for hours?

This is the biggest debate in my head

If guys are in town working out, they might make appearances. For example, I know Ricky was in town the other day and might still be.
