He'd be by far the tallest and longest guy on the team. :o

Re-post from the spec thread: he probably has a standing reach around 9'7 which would put him top 5 in that category of all prospects ever measured according to DX.

Alas, I don't think he's there at 5.

The secret is out. If he's there at 5, we should grab him. Hopefully NY and Philly draft based on need. I still don't get Philly taking KP but I could see the Knicks doing it even though I think they'd do best to get the leftover guard.

I don't really see the Sixers passing up on DAngelo. I mean, after Okafor and Towns, Russell could be the only guy left with the best upside, and possibly best chance to be a Franchise Cornerstone. Would Hinkie pass that up to acquire another asset? The only competition I see is the Knicks, especially with the concerns over WCS's health.

And realistically Philly, when are you going to find shooting and passing in a guard anytime soon? This HAS to be why they traded MCW because they knew they'd go for Russell or Mudiay.

Those measurements are silly. Glad he put on some weight. Ideally I would want him to put on 15-20 more lbs over the next few years. Crazy thing is he's still just 19 and might get a little taller.

At this rate i highley doubt hell be available at 5. Probably rightfully so. He isnt ready to contribute now or any time in the next 3 years and the magic have been vocal about wanting to be competitive.

Those measurements are ridiculous, I'm buying into the hype.

I really hope he's there at #5, Mario is still my #1 but I somehow doubt Henny is going to draft him. And I don't want to end up with Winslow.

Just listened to a draftexpress podcast

He said thast Porzingis only interviewed with LA and Orlando. He said that theres a feeling Porzingis doesn't want to go to Philly, and might prefer going to #5, but Orlando hasn't given him any indication that we will draft him. The podcast was uploaded 6/21 not sure if things has changed.

But I'm starting to feel like unless theres a trade its going to be Towns-Okafor-Russell in top 3. I have absolutely no clue who the Knicks will take though.

The Knicks staged another workout Monday with the Spanish League’s rising 7-foot project Kristaps Porzingis, in town for the draft.
The Post reported the Knicks interviewed the 19-year-old sharpshooter in Las Vegas this month after his workout for several teams. Clarence Gaines, team president Phil Jackson’s top adviser, scouted Porzingis in Spain, where the team’s European scout, Kevin Wilson, is based.
However, Jackson said he is trying to draft a starter with the fourth pick and the Latvian sharpshooter seems a ways away, making him an odd fit. Jackson also has stated that after falling to fourth, he wasn’t sure there was a big man worthy of that high a selection.

Wolves - Towns
Lakers - Okafor
76ers - Russell
Knicks - ¿Winslow/WCS/Kaminsky?
Magic - ...

I think the Knicks are going to trade down to get WCS later. May force Orlando to throw them a bone to move up and get KP so another team doesn't. Unless another team wants to move up for Mudiay or Mario.

I can see a trade between Knicks and Nuggets, taking Denver Mudiay at #4 to replace Lawson.

I think Kris is legit. I think Mario is legit also. Now, in that order I am set and I'm done until Thursday when I become all about who we draft and hold my breath about whether or not we trade them.

Probably the wrong place to ask this but why don't we have a draft/Magic rumor topic up yet that solely focuses on draft rumors we are involved in that we can discuss? Or is that the "Offical Speculation thread"?

Just trying to consolidate and not have to read 10 different topics.

Rumors like we zeroed in on Henonja
Rumors like the Sac trade
Rumors like were interested in Faried

and so forth..

The speculation thread is the general thread for everything. These other threads are for more specific topics that users have decided deserved their own threads. For example the trade rumor was bound to blow into a full out discussion on it's own. There's more talk about Kristaps for the Magic than any other draftee.

If the mods feel the threads should be merged they will be. But if you're looking to catch up quickly from time to time the speculation thread is your best bet.
