Definitely worth it. Only thing is Kings would want more assets (Randle/Clarkson/picks) which wouldn't make it worthwhile for us.

Hence why you don't push all in at this point and let the kings leverage fall over the next couple of years which inevitably happens with all teams that keep their disgruntled stars around (well unless your player owns everything about the team from plays called on the court to top level of management decisions - Lebron).

True. We are not at the point wherein Cousins can come and we automatically become contenders. Won't happen. Even if we rape the Magic and Kings and end up getting the 6th pick without giving up Randle and Clarkson, we still won't be contenders. We will have a future but not contenders.

But realistically, we will have to give up Randle and/or Clarkson. That's why I'm not for this. We do have a building block but we end up taking 2 steps back. Instead of having possibly at least 3 pieces for the future, we end up with 1, who may end up bolting in a few years if we don't build the proper pieces around him. Remember that we still don't have next year's pick. I'd rather develop our 3 guys into assets. If they don't end up as stars, then at least they would become more valuable trade assets than they are now.

Kilroy wrote:I think Cousins is really over-rated and stat inflated right now. That said if you can get Cousins and the 6th, without giving up Clarkson or Randle, it's a good deal for us... I think Ok4 is going to surpass Cousins, but if you add the 6th, it gives us a chance at a better core.

Why do you think it'd be remotely possible to get Cousins and the number six for trash and the number two? If we could get Cousins for Randle and the number two, you'd have to give that some very serious consideration. I'd personally hold on to the number two and select Okafor, based purely on the difference in salary, but once again, you'd have to strongly consider it. What you're talking about is such a pipe dream, though. If we could swap picks with them and get Cousins for Randle, THAT would be a very good, however unlikely, deal.

What? Our premise in our posts was that it wasnt happening without giving up clarkson and/or randle. And I doubt they are giving up 6. If that were the deal obvious no brainer. Even without the 6, id do 2 for cousins. But its not gonna happen.

Philly fans want Russell. Hinkie wants BPA. Whether he kept him or used him to shake down the Knicks and/or the Magic, Sam would be all smiles taking Okafor.
