I wouldn't be surprised if Rich Paul wants Bledsoe to go to the east, and that Bledsoe wouldn't care, unless he went somewhere he wouldn't start. I'm sure he'd be happy to reunite with Cousins or to play in NY.

Would love to see a Bled/Melo/Aldridge vs Irving/James/Love rivalry, might make the east interesting for a change.

Make another trade like Tucker and/or the Morris brothers to a contending team in the East like Indiana for their pick. Do whatever you have to do to clear out Bledsoe's, Tucker's, and the Morris brothers' contracts. Re-sign Knight in the offseason. Bring in a couple of veterans and go with a team of Len, Knight, Warren, Goodwin, the new draft picks, Granger, and some vets. Wins will probably suffer but who cares. Suns ain't gonna make the playoffs next season anyway or in the foreseeable future with the core they have right now. Might as well go for broke with all young players and hope they turn into superstars/all stars. At least the Suns will have players that give it their all every night instead of players that McDonough said himself sometimes lack motivation to play. Of course this is just one of the many roads the organization can take though as there are lots of options McDonough can choose from.

I feel like I've read this from you quite a bit. I'm not against anything if we get proper value in trading the players. I agree that it is far fetched for us to make the playoffs, and especially get out of the first round in the foreseeable future. But I also want to see a fun product.

Oh yeah I want to see a fun product too. I think the Suns can be really fun to watch though with guys like Len, Warren, Goodwin, Knight, and some rookies running up and down the court. Two of the most fun games I remember watching were against Dallas and Golden State. The Dallas game where Goodwin hit that huge three pointer down the stretch in Phoenix and the Suns won that game. And the other game where T.J. Warren took over in the fourth quarter against the Warriors in Golden State. It was awesome to watch the young guys do that against top competition. Even though the Suns lost the game against Golden State, Warren was phenomenal and showed how much promise he has. However I want to reiterate that I am not interested in trading Bledsoe for garbage or a salary dump. The fourth pick in the draft is highly sought after and where you can potentially draft a superstar. Here is a list of all the fourth picks in the draft since 1980. http://www.mynbadraft.com/nba-draft-picks/4th-overall/40509/ Not a bad list.

I'm not against trading him for the 4th pick. I might even trade him and 13 for the 4th pick, though that would be tougher. I'd rather take back Calderon if need be and keep 13. I'd love to get Porzingis.

We can hold off on the twins, or at least Kieff though because their trade value will improve and if we did get Porzingis, he couldn's start immediately anyway. If we did trade Bledsoe and got Porzingis, I'd want to use that extra cap space on throwing a big offer to Matthews, even though he is injured. I don't think Butler or any of those other top tier free agents will leave, but that one could be interesting.

That's the thing. If we do move Bledsoe to add a guy like Porzingis, we open up some money for some gettable 2 guards, like Matthews and Carroll. Problem is if we're downgrading Bledsoe for a younger player, we really ought to be looking to sign guys coming off of their rookie deals to big money, and only small-mid money on savvy vet leaders, since our window will get pushed back even further.

I have doubts $12m a year would be enough to retain him. He's playing on a team that didn't draft him, he didn't have a choice in the matter and he's playing next to another top PG. I think it would be a big money decision for him.

Good point on the window being pushed back. Unless we can land a Jimmy Butler/ Danny Green level SG, I'd be more inclined to run with a Goodwin/ Bullock SG tandem this year to see what they can actually do with minutes. If we don't kick the tyres on them sooner or later, their potential will be wasted and their asset value will be zero. May as well see what we have - we have Bogdanovic in the wings if either bombs.

^ also, if it's so bleak that we need to upgrade the SG mid season, we will hopefully have the Morrii situation resolved by then, and with half a season of good play under their belts their value should be pretty good. Might work in our favour if we land a Portzingis/ Kaminsky type and they pan out.

This so much. For me the Morrii and Tucker really ruin the watchability of this team. Were not winning anything anyway next year, might as well clear some deadwood and develop the young guys while having a fun team to watch.

I think the only thing thats holding Knight back from taking the next step is his finishing ability at the rim. He needs to get stronger and learn to draw fouls better, as well as be a bit more "herky jerky" with his dribble.

Much too many blown layups and bad finishes.

This. He lacks a fluidity to his game and seems to deliberate before driving to go along with spotty shot selection. He's our best shooter but isn't an elite marksmen from behind the mark to be jacking up that many threes without good looks.

Throw everything at Cousins.

Len, Morri, Bullock and #13 for Cousins and Stauskas

If somehow the Suns can get Cousins without giving up Len or Bledsoe, that would be AMAZING. Len and Cousins would be very hard to beat. Keef and Cousins would be good too.

Either way, get Cousins. I didn't want him at first but man we sure need a name here in Phoenix!!!

Curry was like that 2 years ago, minus the dribble.
I think Knight will figure it out too.

It would be ridiculous if we don't have the assets to get Cousins.

That has been our no.1 goal to collect pieces to get a superstar!

The problem is the Suns pick not being top 7.... which allows Suns to outbid many teams.

Damn it must suck being a kings fan - they fire a winning coach two months in...fire the gm who fired the winning coach...look to trade ther only established star but don't want draft picks of which they could get a top pick..they want established vets....got to be grateful it's not us. The main positive for us besides not being Sacramento ..is that ther coach whose pushing this trade ( apparently) was at the helms when the nuggets traded carmelo..got a bunch of established vets and didn't skip a beat that season...n if we miss out on cousins....I hear Joakim Noah is very available .

The Oklahoma City Thunder are shopping Jeremy Lamb, Perry Jones and Steve Novak, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.
The Thunder are looking for picks in the next NBA Draft.

Jeremy Lamb for #44 anyone?

I think other teams can beat our offer to get Cousins. Unless we are trading Bledsoe/Morris bros/Len and like 3 or 4 picks.

Anyone find it crazy that Wes Mathews is seeking 15mil per season? Think maybe the max for him is 10-12mil.

I don't think Cousins is that "disgruntled star" McD wants. He still has a lot of years on his current contract, and Kings are not under pressure to trade him at all costs. If he does get traded, Kings will get a lot in return. Meaning Suns would have to give almost everything to get him, which would leave many holes in the team, and would likely result in a worse season than the last one. Cousins is not James or Durant, he cannot lead a team alone, and is generally not a type of player who will attract other elite players to Phoenix. I can easily see him getting disgruntled here too, and demanding a trade or just leaving when his contract expires. I say pass, and wait for a better opportunity.
