Somebody on the ESPN boards mentioned this idea:

Lakers get: Cousins, Collison, and Sacramento 6th pick
Kings get: Vucevic, Clarkson, Orlando's 5th pick,27,34th pick and Tobias Harris thru sign and trade
Magic get: Randle, Laker's 2nd pick, Carl Landry

Now I don't think the Lakers are getting the 6th pick if they're acquiring Cousins, let alone Collison as well. But it's possible this could be the type of groundwork we'd see.

Some of you guys need to comprehend Wojs article. The article doesn't say: "Karl informs Divac Cousins has to go" ....Neither does it say "Divac secretly shopping Cousins"

Karl is the coach....Divac is VP.

In the end Karl is a master mind. Doing this to spark light under Cousins to dominate and will Kings to playoffs. Go Kings :(

I guess a Denver trade is probably out of the equation then!

What does all that mean? And what did cousins post? Looks like a tooth surrounded by corn.

Seems like the Lakers make out like bandits in this trade.

I'm with you - No way do I see them getting the 6th pick AND Cousins.

Doesn't anyone find it incredibly interesting that as talented as Cousins is, his new coach wants to trade him away?

I'm looking forward to everything unfolding on its own. I have said since their rookie seasons, I would rather have Favors 10/10 times over Cousins. There are a lot of reasons for this. This is so interesting to me and it is very telling that Cousins, for as uber talented as he is, is always in talks to be moved.

Cousins has an ego. Not a-la-Dwight Howard diva, but to be fair he's been loyal to Sacramento.

He has improved every year, and his maturity and so-called attitude improved too, writing off the frequent narrative about him being stuck in his own troubles.

He has become a gold medalist, an all star and All Nba, anyway.

The management of the Kings franchise has been troublesome to say the least, and when they are looking to turn the corner off to a great start of the season, a good defensive system and winning bball, he gets meningitis and Malone gets canned.

Karl is brought in. A coach known for his fast paced style of basketball, historically avoiding post up bigs (or diminishing their role as much as possible, I can remember Nenè not being featured in the Nuggets offense) and who has clashed with stars more than once.

There's clearly a problem, because DMC is a centerpiece on a Kings' roster with very bad overall talent. He probably looks to start over and tweak the roster to fit his vision (maybe also Vivek's vision?)

It doesn't look like it's gonna end well for Kings' fans regardless.

You would have to wait until after the draft to do this type of deal and then it becomes massively more complicated when trying to trade draft picks in the new NBA season

George Karl wants to run star out of town isn't news, it's his MO. Considering the fact that Cousins plays the opposite of how Karl wants to play, it makes a lot of sense he'd want him gone. Plus, Cousins being gone gives Karl more voice with Vivek than any new player would have as Karl would have "made" that player.

Eh. When I see Cousins constantly wrapped up in some type of drama, I'm going to start believing that he is just a massive pain in the ass. Karl has had guys like Kemp, Payton before and they seemed to do well together. I just think Cousins isn't worth the headache and Karl is smart and wanting to cash in on his value now.

I know feeding on the drama is entertaining, but I bet this is all blown out of proportion. Prior to getting hired, I'm pretty sure Karl said he'd love an opportunity to coach Cousins.

For everyone saying Karl is a "fast-paced" coach, he's also an extremely creative coach who can devise schemes around his players and win games. And for anyone talking about egos and butting heads and whatnot, it's true that Karl has had problems with players but he also is pretty good at managing egos. Anyone who could keep the reins on the Thuggets of old has to have some skill in that area.

There's another possibility of how this went down: The owner said he wants to play fast paced. Karl said that he would need different players and that Cousins isn't the best center for that style. Leaks get out that Karl wants Cousins traded.

towns will be off the board after 1.
at 2 the kings would have their choice of porzingis, russell, mudiay, and okafor. but if they wanted okafor's half court game why not just keep cousins?

If we're giving up randle, clarkson and the #2 it would be for more than Cousins alone. I know people want to compare this to the Minnesota fleecing of Cleveland for Wiggins but it won't be if we're involved.

We are not one piece away from contending so trading every asset we have for cousins accomplishes what type of roster? A retiring Kobe and Cousins who will be disgruntled about losing more games while getting 5 times the scrutiny under the LA microscope? We would be worse than the Kings are already he would hate it. I think he'd be great if we already had a culture of guys here to bring him in and he could be our guy to put us over the top. That's not where we are though.

Also, LA isnt desperate as we have a good youth movement going with Okafor ( I assume), Randle and Clarkson plus room for a nice FA. Unless there's a fleecing, which Mitch is always capable of, I don't see us participating in a trade like the one above. No need to do something like this and rush our rebuild.

I'll give you the 2nd pick and that's it. We're keeping Randle and Clarkson... If Cuz wasn't a head case I'd go hard after him

This.... I just don't hope we take Landry or Thompson back.

I wouldn't mind getting T. Harris and Collison though... Also I don't think a SnT can happen involving 3 teams and other players but I may be wrong

I don't know what the fuss is all about, regarding the Lakers fleecing the Kings and the Magic.

I, for one, welcome our Lakers overlords. Give 'em what they want!
