His rebounding is what impressed so much in those last five games. Averaged 8.6 rebounds in 23.6 minutes.

How good can Noah Vonleh be?

Post#942 » by yosemiteben » Sat May 23, 2015 3:46 pm

Dude...No. Vonleh is not going to start this season. He's not going to go from literally zero PT to starting. Cody was a solid starter last year without shooting from outside. He's not going to get demoted because his shot hasn't improved enough.

Plus Cody will still have months to work on his shot before the season starts. And really we don't even know if he needs to work on his shot so much as feel confident in taking it. We don't have evidence that the shot isn't there, he doesn't have the attempts.

Zeller was only expected to be out a couple months, he's going to be ready for training camp. I really hope we don't count on Marvin to play PF again next year- and not only because Vonleh is behind him- Marvin is really a SF.

Yup. I hope to God we just use him as MKG's backup. But who knows with Cliff and his loyalty to vets/journeymen.

Marvin doesn't have the foot speed to guard most PF, and he really doesn't have the foot speed to guard SF.

Settles it. Vonleh is going to be better than Barkley.

Wish he didn't get so low when driving. Seems to waste a bit of his length sometimes.

Can this please be merged into the Vonleh thread so we don't lose this awesome thread over the busy next few days?

Interesting question has created an interesting discussion.

Vonleh could be a 16/12/2 player imo with a couple of assists to boot.

He's got sky high potential and plays with an edge.

He doesn't have a glaring weakness like most bigs his age (even if he is mechanical in the post)

I am expecting kinda of a middle class Bosh...they have a very smilar skill set, Vonleh can be a better rebounder and Bosh was/is more athletic

I think it's perfect. Maybe we can pass him off as a rookie this year, given that he hardly played last.

I really hope Cliff pulls his head out of his ass and gets Vonleh some steady minutes this year. He seems to have as much potential as anyone on this roster (maybe excluding MKG) and we desperately need someone to make a leap if this assortment of players is ever going to be anything above "meh".

Gonna make a bold prediction and say Vonleh actually cracks 30% from the field in SL
