In these high pressure times around the draft, Embiid's injuries and potential investigations by the player's union, it's nice to have some humor. We should all thank Danny Ainge for providing us with some laughs.

League executives also said the Celtics were trying to move up in the draft, using their two first-round picks and two second-round picks as bait.

The executives said the Celtics were looking to trade point guard Marcus Smart and the Nos. 16 and 28 picks in the first round to Philadelphia for center/forward Nerlens Noel and the No. 3 pick. But the 76ers, the executives said, weren't interested.

That's nonsense. There's no way Ainge offered anything like that. That somebody just trying to create "hits".

Celtics fan from their board:

The way Ainge looks at the trade he is likely dealing Smart for the #3 and #16/#28 for Noel. I think in both cases the Celtics are short changing the Sixers a bit, but Smart is really close to the value of #3 and #16/#28 is also close on Noel. I almost guarantee a PF-C drafted 16 or later in this draft ends up being comparable to or better than Noel.

Sometimes, in life, there are things that are just too ridiculous to respond to.

This is worse than that. He needs to be verbally assaulted.

If Ainge really did make that offer, which is hard to believe, perhaps we can speculate on what kind of intoxicants someone released into the air vents at the Celtics home office when he did it. Sheesh!

This is even more dumb than the trade Ainge proposed.

Laughable. I'm not sure I would have any interest if it didn't include the #3 pick too. Would anyone here be excited to move Noel for Smart and one mid/one late first round pick? I wouldn't.
