Got a question for all of you who think we should "move up." Leaving the #2 pick, Kobe, Clarkson and Randle out of the discussion, as I doubt they'd trade any of the above, who and what are you packaging? MUCH MORE IMPORTANT: Who is going to take your deal and why?

I mean, I just want to know if anybody has any ideas about a realistic deal that could happen or if everyone's just blowing smoke in typical forum fashion.

The whole idea is to use #27 & #34 and take some salary in return to move a couple of slots up if they like a player that could get picked before #27, like Justin Anderson. That's where the whole "MOVE UP" comes in. For example if Toronto doesn't like keeping Vasquez, you could do something like #27 + #34 for #20 + Vasquez ($7 mil in salary).

I know "the idea." I want Anderson myself. I just don't see anybody taking the deal.

So, just to be clear on this, you think Toronto is going to take 27 and 34 and give us Vasquez (don't we have to give up equal value here, btw?) and their #20 pick.
If more people thought like I do, the world would be a much better place.

yeah, that's the gist of what I wrote. We don't have to give up salary in return because we can absorb his contract.

Ok... Hey, at least somebody had something to suggest. I don't see a lot out there suggesting that Toronto wants to move him; just that the Rockets and Wolves are interested in acquiring him. But it's a start.

Any others?

Anybody?

Wow... got real quiet in here...

Warned for baiting

Any news on who worked out today for the late picks? Was supposed to be today and Wednesday right?

Ideally we buy another pick in the 2nd round to have more options, but if not, I'm wavering between Jaiteh and Dawson at 34-I'm that high on Dawson

Not gonna happen if we keep the 2, 27 and 34. Theres already talk of stashing one of the picks in Europe, we will have too many rookies with another one.

Norman Powell coming to L.A for a second workout.

I would love to see him in a Laker Uniform.

I kind of like Upshaw with #34 pick. He might be a headcase, but when he was on the court he was one of the most impactful players in the tour

Any way of trading up for Kelly Oubre? Think he would fit well with his long wing-span and shooting at the 3 slot. He's currently projected 15th by draftexpress and 23rd by nbadraft.net.

27+34+Kelly and/or Sacre for Tyus Jones

Clarkson can go to SG where he belongs when Kobe leaves and the backcourt is set for a while.

27. Los Angeles Lakers — SF/PF Jarell Martin, LSU

This is an all-upside pick, as Martin has tons of athleticism and strength, but is unpolished in nearly every facet of the game. If the Lakers arrive at this pick with Jahlil Okafor and Julius Randle on the team, Martin looks like an oversized small forward with the quickness to hang with smaller wings (just not the technique at this point), who can then bully them in the post on the other end. If they find themselves with, oh I don’t know, DeMarcus Cousins, then Martin becomes a smallish 4 to complement the monster inside.

So we will draft Jarell Martin to guard DeMarcus during practice. :D

34. Los Angeles Lakers — PG/SG Joseph Young, Oregon

You know what the Lakers could really use? Another gunner! *ducks thrown objects from Laker fans* But seriously, Young can do two things that Nick Young can’t: hit the three-pointer, and occasionally pass the ball — emphasis on “occasionally.” Young’s never going to give enough defense to be a starter, but his destiny is to be a Jamal Crawford/Isaiah Thomas-style fan-favorite bench scorer, and Swaggy P won’t be around forever, no matter when his contract ends (2018).

I like that Justin Anderson is falling to us in these mock drafts. He would be an amazing 3 and d guy to pair with Cousins.
