I think with that second round pick - stash a guy in Europe or a true hustle guy like Draymond Green - raw skills but can bring value just by being on the court

Minimum it would take to get Cousins. Len, Bledsoe, the 13th pick and a future pick. I can't believe people are back to trying to trade for him. But it would take something like that. They would need a center back and would want a pg and probably at least one pick. Probably this year's.

Now if people are ok with that, it's fine to have that opinion. But it takes at least that. I can understand people being willing to do that since many want to trade Bledsoe anyway and we'd get our center, but that's what it would take....I don't even think they'd do it for that, but it would have to be something like that.

They wouldn't want the twins since they have like 3-4 PFs, and we can't trade Knight, so that doesn't leave much else.

I think our best option for a trade is if the Knicks were to take Bledsoe for the 4th pick. Suns go get Porzinga with the 4th pick overall. If the Knicks want the 13, add in Tucker and the Morris twins, Suns get back Calderon and more filler.

I would do it. And then try and sign Kevin Love. Love-Cousins frontcourt, might not be the best defensively, but offensively that is the best front court in the league.
Maybe, the only reason McD traded for Knight is because Cousins would be comfortable with him since they both attended UK. It's all making sense now!

You won't get a chance to build around him, it's as simple as that. He is no longer patient, especially after four non-playoff years with the Kings. If he gets traded to the Suns, this team won't be any better than the one Kings have. Then you have two years to surround him with premier talent (and be successful as well) or otherwise he's gone. And to be honest, i don't care about his stats, his team never won more than 29 wins in his four years there. He didn't have the best team or management around him, but it wasn't the worst one either. And to be honest, he acts like a child most of the time. I don't know if George Karl is a "snake" or anything, but that thing he posted today is immature and out of order (although that tweet could have different meanings, and might have nothing to do with basketball at all). What makes you think he won't do the same thing here in Phoenix if things don't go his way? Difference between Duncan and Cousins is huge, and i wouldn't even try to compare them or anything. Duncan is pure class, Cousins is completely the opposite.

If the Suns decide to finally give up on the two combo guard offense, would love to see them bring in some veteran leadership, defense and big time 3pt shooting with this type of signing

Paying big money for Wes is a mistake. Players aren't the same after an achilles tear.

I say go after Cousins. Only thing that's bothering me is involving Len in the trade. The guy is looking jacked and I'd hate to ship him away and he'll have a breakout year. Hope we can keep him if the trade goes through.

Agree to some extent, but Wes was never an athlete. Relies mostly on his bball intelligence and shooting. With that said, I don't think we are a Wes Mathews (@ 15mil) away from winning a championship.

I hardly believe we are getting decent players through trades. No one in the league is letting good players go, so may be it would be a mistake let Len, Bledsoe or Knight leave.
The M&Ms are not worth it. They are very bad starters and tooooo expensive to be bench players, as opposite to someone wrote here.

This said, I believe we should keep Green, Granger, Wright... then let Warren and Goodwin play (bad or good) as much as they can.
That is the only way we could get out of mediacrity...

I don't want Cousins on this team. We have enough knuckleheads. I don't care how desperate we are for a star, team chemistry is important. Stay away from Cousins!!!!!

All this pipedream speculation as our saving grace just goes to show the sorry state this organization is really in. Nothing sort of divine intervention would allow us to fleece an established star player away with our overhyped damaged goods (ahem sorry "assets"). Harden fell in to Morey's laps and the Rockets really just lucked out as an outlier. Can't build a team by holding out hope counting on the improbable.

You build a team by hiring the best basketball minds you can find in mgmt, scouting, and coaching. Then you continue building by
collecting assets, developing assets, maintaining flexibility, and pouncing on the big opportunity when it arises.
