Detroit Pistons Voting Big Board - #9

Post#1 » by coordinator0 » Tue Jun 23, 2015 4:17 pm

I'll get this one up a few minutes early since nobody is jumping ahead of Johnson at this point.

Who's your pick for the #9 player on Detroit's big board?

Current Results:

1. Karl Towns
2. D'Angelo Russell
3. Kristaps Porzingis
4. Jahlil Okafor
5. Justise Winslow
6. Mario Hezonja
7. Emmanuel Mudiay
8. Stanley Johnson
9.

I just noticed Pistons Powered is doing a similar voting big board. Interesting to see how theirs compared to ours, pretty close. Readers there have Jahlil two spots lower than us, and Mudiay and Johnson flipped. Otherwise the same.

1. Karl-Anthony Towns
2. D’Angelo Russell
3. Kristaps Porzingis
4. Justise Winslow
5. Mario Hezonja
6. Jahlil Okafor
7. Stanley Johnson

I really like WCS here. This is as about as lower risk as you can get on a boom or bust situation. You either live with his supposed foot problems or him turning into a multidimensional defender with a midrange.

I just don't see the upside in others nor do I think they'll even reach remotely close to it.

Interesting. Everything being close to the same doesn't surprise me too much since most every agrees on who the top eight or so players in the draft are. I don't read that blog for the most part and had no idea they were doing the same thing. Like I said before I stole this idea from Charlotte's board. Feldman seems to be doing his at a much faster pace.

I'm a believer in Booker, not so much WCS. I would rather have a guy who is outstanding at one or two things, than someone who is pretty good at a lot of things. To me that's the difference between Tayshaun Prince and Ray Allen. Sure you need guys like TP, but you can win playoff games with guys like Ray Allen.

I went with Turner. I think WCS is going to drop because of the foot issue. Certainly isn't going in the 5-8 range which has been discussed a lot before the combine. Turner is a big that was under-utilized by a crappy coach in Texas. He has a lot of upside and I wouldn't mind if the Pistons took him if we can't get a good SF.
