I would probably like Cauley-Stein as a high lottery pick if I was a team that had a top half offense and needed a defensive center more than any other position. Out of all the teams that didn't make the playoffs, only the Thunder, Suns, Celtics, and Kings come to mind as teams that could use Cauley-Stein's impact to maximize their complimentary pieces. I'm surprised Oklahoma City hasn't been rumored more to move up, but I guess they see Steven Adams in a similar vein

Sucks that we have a shot at greating a solid player of this ilk, but at a time when our offense is so awful that WCS' impact will be overshadowed by our lack of firepower.

By the same token, if this franchise is looking at '15-'16 season as a 'whatever' kind of year and think that perhaps PJ or a FA grab next summer will add scoring and offensive prowess, then it's also hard to pass up on the big man. Considering Al is a goner (who the hell knows Biz's future), locking down an athletic 5 that is in the mold of what the future of the center is in the NBA, is pretty hard to pass over too.

Can't be too hard to pass over, 8 other teams will do it ;)

Strongly disagree. MKG was a extremely highly-touted recruit coming out of prep school that helped Kentucky win the championship as much if not more than Anthony Davis. Put MKG on NC State and he's still a lottery pick if he leave after his freshman season there

I'm a State fan.

NC State is where highly-touted recruits go to die.

T.J. Warren was a highly-touted recruit that didn't go to NC State to die. Don't let Rodney Purvis and Anthony 'Cat' Barber make you so pessimistic

TJ Warren had to lead the ACC in scoring. MKG wasn't going to do that. State never has solid, x's and o's coaching so MKG would be a glue guy with too much of a mess to glue together.

its never a bad time to **** on MKG

I wasn't **** on MKG, I was **** on State. I just thought the point Mr KIA brought up was irrelevant.

I'm sure a lot of us said the same about Giannis, I know I was. I just don't see how you pass on a guy whose floor looks closer to Tyson Chandler than his ceiling does. Same thing with Winslow, terrible fit with MKG and being 1-way player but the talent is hard to ignore.
