I'm told the Hawks' new uniforms will be a big change. Nothing minor. Stay tuned.

Wes Matthews wants.....
According to a person with knowledge of Matthews’ situation, he is seeking a multi-year deal that pays approximately $15 million annually. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of such discussions.

If Demarre Carroll can get (or even ask for) $12mil on the market then Wes Matthews isn't settling for $8mil. Wes only takes $8 million if he feels his career is in jeopardy which of course turns what many would consider a "deal" into a huge risk.

Also of note from that article, Wes Mathews claims he'll be ready to play by the start of the season...which makes him super-human.

Let's just go get Jae Crowder for $6 million and turn him into the NEXT Demarre Carroll.

Crowder is a restricted free agent so we would have to make an offer to him that Boston wouldn't even think about matching. $6 mil isn't going to cut it because that's basically chump change under the new salary cap in 1-2 years.

Man, that OKC Thunder trade of James Harden is officially a bust. They got Steven Adams and a bunch of garbage for a top 5 player in the NBA.

I still maintain had we been willing to move Smoove sooner, we could have cobbled together a package better than Houston's.

Hopefully, Bud isn't so smitten with our middling players he'd turn down a chance at a top player for chump change.
<cough-cough: DeMarcus Cousins:cough-cough>

Be aggressive, WES!!! Last year's team is last year's team. Get us a star and build us a true contender!!!!

I'm telling ya, the Thunder are just playing street ball. They don't have a legit system that allows players to know their roles and feel comfortable in the offense. Besides with Durant and Russ playing so many minutes and dominating the ball the young guys get snatched if they don't come in on fire. We could use both Jones and Lamb.

Stop polluting the forums with your non-sense posts. It is painful to the eyes and mind...

WEDNESDAY, 10:19am: Boston and Minnesota have discussed a deal that would send Bennett and the Nos. 31 and 36 picks to the Celtics for the 28th pick, a source tells Jake Fischer of SI Now (Twitter links).

Man. I am not a fan of Danny Ainge the GM...

But this type of move is brilliant if he pulls it off. Low risk, potential for high reward getting a 20 year old lottery pick for a couple of 2nd rounders.

Buy low, Danny boy. Always buy low...

Boy, the internet really brings out the punk in some people. Needless vitriol. I wonder if you'd be so brash in public? Probably gets you into a lot of scuffles. If it hasn't yet it will. Check yourself sooner than later. BTW, your opinion is irrelevant.

Hey guys, could you think of a reasonable offer we could make for Cousins without including Big Al?

Nope. They'd hang up immediately if we said we wouldn't involve Al. Cousins is too valuable and just 24 years old.

Well this is something I've been pondering the last day or so, also. DeMarcus as the lead dog sounds like trouble. Even for a veteran team and great coach like ours.

DeMarcus as 2nd banana with AL leading the way as the franchise player & team captain...sounds too good to be true.

We know SAC is looking for an experienced PG, so Teague has to be the centerpiece. We know you never trade big for little in this league, so Tavares will need to be included as well. (NOTE: This is the type of scenario where drafting Nurkic last summer would benefit us even if he didn't fit into our system. He's a very valuable trade asset.)

Draft picks we can trade include the 15th this year and the Minn future protected pick. Throw in Korver as additional value and take back any garbage contracts they want to unload on us (Jason Thompson, Darren Collison)

So our best offer is:

Teague, Korver, Tavares, the 15th pick this year, both 2nd round picks, the Minnesota pick for Darren Collison, Nik Stauskas and the best young Center in the league.

1. Is that even comparable to LA giving up Julius Randle and the draft rights to Jahlil Okafor?

2. Would it even be worth it?

DeMarcus
AL
Demarre
Mike Dunleavy
Darren Collison

We'd have easily the best frontcourt in the NBA. We'd be bare everywhere else. In the East...we'd still probably be top 4 next year.
