Re: The case for Kristaps Porzingis
We have a very competent GM if indeed KP falls to us and we draft him, I have the up most faith that this kid will be special. Will he win ROY? More than likely not but Henny has an eye for talent as he displayed countless times over so I am genuinely not concerned.
So many smokescreens you have absolutely no idea what to think of KP
From the very beginning where he was mostly considered a #8 pick and us having to reach to draft him.
To LA and Philly considering drafting him
To Philly strongly considering drafting him
To NY strongly considering drafting him
To Orlando working him out and giving him no indication of drafting him
To NY working him out and him having cramps and not looking good and directly from Phil's mouth that he was a 2-3 yr project.
One thing I know for a fact is he doesn't get past us, he will be drafted by Philly/NY/Orlando (that doesn't necessarily mean he plays for one of those teams, could be traded for a team picking lower).

Re: The case for Kristaps Porzingis
I feel if KP is there at #5, we should take him. His ceiling is higher than Vuc. And, I would not hesitate to trade Vuc if
we can land Cousins, or get #2 as well. We can unload any combination of Harkless/Nicholson/KOQ.
I would love for us to get KP and keep Harris...we don't need Winslow or WCS. Dedman can be just as good.
IMO, a successful offseason would be:
1. draft KP
2. retain harris
3. sign a moderate FA banger.

The case for Kristaps Porzingis
So is all hell gonna break loose if we trade with Philly? They take zing at 3 we take mudiay at 5 and give them that future lakers pick.
I think it's something we need to be ready for.

That is one of the most realistic successful off season that I wouldn't mind.
But for some odd reason I feel like Henny will be quite busy/active this off season.
I feel like we draft one of Porzingis/Hezonja/Winslow
I feel like we trade for or sign one of Jordan Hill/Kosta Koufos
I feel like we trade for a key veteran that actually plays meaningful minutes.
I feel like we match a 3yr max for Harris

This was discussed in large a few pages back. Most here were very against that notion as they feel KP is not even worth a top 5 pick
A lot of posters simply said we shouldn't fall for the trick as there is plenty of great prospects we could pick at #5 which is very true.
BUT if Henny did trade up and for the record I think it will take a lot more than just the LA pick I am all for it because I have no reason to doubt his ability and his eye for talent. If we trade up to draft KP that means he sees something very special in him and I will be excited none the less.

Jake Fischer: Hearing many league execs believe Sixers’ reported interest in Kristaps Porzingis/Joel Embiid’s setback is smokescreen to force trade w/ ORL
I'm seriously starting to think Hinkie has something out for Henny, it's certainly becoming a rivalry. I hope Henny doesn't bite.

I wouldn't mind if he does. Worked out pretty damn well for us last time. We got our PG for the next decade plus. Hope they enjoy all those 2nd rounders, maybe they can find a guy who's good enough to crack the 3rd string rotation of a playoff team. I hope Fran, err, Saric shows up eventually too.

Should've just brought in Winslow for a 2nd workout and "leak" to the media we were extremely impressed. Smokescreen the smokescreen. Too late now though.

Re: The case for Kristaps Porzingis
Hinke thinks this is World of Witchcraft or something, he is gonna get himself fired playing all these games. Their fanbase can only holdout for so long before they get fed up with all his nonsense. You start playing games like this and other GM's wont play nice with you, including Henny.

This guy is a project and potentially fools gold. Add that to the fact that he already has a market for his services in Europe to possibly compete with, and I say stay away from this guy. Too many good players to choose from, rather than swing for the fences on this one.
It is about clear as day but people fantasize about the next Dirk so much in their daydreams that it clouds their judgement. I doubt he makes the top 5 picks as GM's are hyping players so others will fall or work deals in trades. This isn't NBA 2k16
No doubt. Its going to take about two years just to get his weight up to where it needs to be. He is not this big time rim protector everyone keeps talking about either. He is a major project that could be as high as Dirk, or more likely could easily be another Darko.

I dont think anybody here is denying he is a project. Its his upside thats what get the KP supporter's excited.

What he is already at 230, at most I think he should be in the 240 range but that should take no two years to achieve especially with a NBA level training program. He is a fantastic weak side shot blocker which is something we need, a guy who will come over and clean up when guys get beat. He is more Pau Gasol at his current stage than anything else, will he end up similar to Pau probably not but he is on a solid path right now.
