Well this is something I've been pondering the last day or so, also. DeMarcus as the lead dog sounds like trouble. Even for a veteran team and great coach like ours.

DeMarcus as 2nd banana with AL leading the way as the franchise player & team captain...sounds too good to be true.

We know SAC is looking for an experienced PG, so Teague has to be the centerpiece. We know you never trade big for little in this league, so Tavares will need to be included as well. (NOTE: This is the type of scenario where drafting Nurkic last summer would benefit us even if he didn't fit into our system. He's a very valuable trade asset.)

Draft picks we can trade include the 15th this year and the Minn future protected pick. Throw in Korver as additional value and take back any garbage contracts they want to unload on us (Jason Thompson, Darren Collison)

So our best offer is:

Teague, Korver, Tavares, the 15th pick this year, both 2nd round picks, the Minnesota pick for Darren Collison, Nik Stauskas and the best young Center in the league.

1. Is that even comparable to LA giving up Julius Randle and the draft rights to Jahlil Okafor?

2. Would it even be worth it?

DeMarcus
AL
Demarre
Mike Dunleavy
Darren Collison

We'd have easily the best frontcourt in the NBA. We'd be bare everywhere else. In the East...we'd still probably be top 4 next year.

12:11pm: Interest is mutual between [Monta] Ellis and the Heat, and the shooting guard also plans to talk to the Hawks, reports Shams Charania of RealGM, who suggests that Ellis would generally prefer to sign with an East Coast team.

Yeah I just read this. Think it would be a solid move for us if we were to move Teague in the draft.

Ellis could start at the point, and depending on who we grab in the draft, we could then decide on who to keep between DMC and Sap.

Would have to think DMC is as good as gone with this move though.

Sap has the versatility to play a small amount at the 3, while DMC may cost to much for what he would give us.

Man, I love the Hot Stove season in the NBA!!!!

Read on Twitter

Love is expected to re-sign with CLE...if they even want him back.

Man. Cavs messed up big time trading Wiggins for a one year K Love rental.

Sources: If Kevin Love goes forward with visits in July, expect Boston to sell him on pursuing group of Love, Robin Lopez and...Paul Pierce.

I still say full court press for Love. He clearly isn't going back to Cleveland because Cleveland would be stupid to try and keep him and Thompson after just paying Mosgov.

We are clearly the best fit for him. We do take a hit defensiely(although he is a underrated help defender...you can just go right at him). But we are upgraded offensively and on the boards.

David West will not exercise his player option and will become a free agent.
A lot of players are opting out today and a lot of it has to do with the increase in the salary cap. West is 34 years old and likely has just one more long-term contract in him. He had one of his worst years with respect to injuries last season, playing in 66 games with averages of 11.7 points, 6.8 boards, 3.4 assists and 0.7 blocks.

We would be bigger at PF (6'10'' vs PM 6'8'') and i like his rebounding. I agree, with the way the hawks play defense, he would be easy to expose but also easy to help. He fits their system, he would probably flourish here. But Again, i cant stress that we would still need a BIG off the bench at C that is worth 15 minutes a night. Pero/BRAND are not options for me anymore.

    Two thoughts:

  • Millsap is about 2 and a half years from becoming David West (Think about the similarities in size, skill, career path)
  • D West here as a low(er) cost alternative to Millsap on a much shorter deal wouldn't be awful. Especially, if we could get David West off the bench.

David west is basically Luis Scola now. He is a midrange jumpshooter and that's pretty much it. Look at his shot chart from last year. From a leadership standpoint, he would be nice to have but as a player, Milsap is probably 3-4 years away from becoming THAT limited offensively and defensively. All that banging caught up with David, sadly.

Nope, keep Teague, move Al and DS to get Cousins, and swap #1s....that is a sweet deal. Those salaries match easily.

Sacramento needs 1s and a big.....no one gives you that good a deal. DS trumps Rondo, and Al trumps any other big replacement.

That gives us Teague/Korver/Boogie/Sap?/DMC?

I like that lineup even if we can't get the question marks to come back. Boogie would listen to Bud because of Duncan's success.
Boogie is only about winning, no matter what anyone tells you.
That's plenty of change from a 60 win season....get me Sap and DMC back as well.

Sac ain't trading Cousins. Don't buy the hype. Their front office is in love with him.

Yeah West was shell of himself last year, but I think that had a lot to do with usage, age, no Paul George, no Lance , etc. It was asking a ton of him.

I in NO WAY want him as a starter. bench rotation player would be interesting. But he opted out of 12 million for 1, so Im sure he is looking for something like 24/3 or more? no way hes getting 12 million a year from anyone for any length of time.

Hes prob realizing paycut per / winning situation / longer term money

Are they willing to eat Karls contract?

Seems DUMB. They can be in love all they want, if he and Karl have this kind of rift NOW, someone has to go.

I agree.

Bold prediction: there will come a day in the next few years where they will trade Cousins...for less than anything they're being offered today.

They'll wish they had done it sooner.

This kid has Shaq like talent, but Josh Smith like attitude. he will drag that whole organization through h3ll and they will be forced to deal him. Then be glad to be done with him.

Even worse case scenario: They STILL refuse to trade him as the situation gets worse...and then regrets when he walks away for NOTHING!!!

Cousins hates losing...i have no problem with that. They had a good coach and fired him for no reason and are keeping the coach carousel going in Sacramento.
