The national consensus has swung back to Russel which is a little scary, but who knows at this point. Ready for this to be over!

Chris Broussard, who's kind of a douche, said agents are telling Sixers not to draft their players.

1. Probably overblown
2. Hinkie won't care, he'll draft who he wants

I believe it.

Hinkie's stock is way down right now across all levels. Players, Agents, opposing GMs, and even coaches (Brett Brown is looked at as a martyr).

This is a fickle world, it won't take much to flip the stigma. If the Sixers win 30+ games next year and they have three young players developing on a swift incline, Hinkie will get all sorts of praise and we will get dubbed a scary team going forward.

My feelings, as we are coming in for a landing, are that Russell is probably the safest/smartest pick, but I am completely apathetic about him. He just doesn't excite me.

Porzingis is the guy that I think is the riskiest guy to NOT take.

Nobody else that we could pass on scares me like him. Mudiays and Russells come along every once in a while. Porzingis is a unique talent.

I am torn about it, but part of me thinks that we ought to just take him while we have the chance.

We can find our guards with next year's picks, trades or free agents.

It isn't just the workouts that have impressed me(although they have blown me away). It isn't just his highlights and scouting videos(although they are exciting as well).

It isn't just his measurements, which are beyond elite.

I am impressed with his interviews. His confidence and personality just make me believe in him. He works hard, and has been putting on muscle.

He could be 15 pounds heavier by the time he is 21, and could easily turn into a star. I see him becoming a star easier than Russell.

Porzingus is similar to Giannis in that he's a freak of uniquity. That doesn't mean he has star potential, though.

That alone doesn't mean that, but I still think that he does. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he was averaging 20 points a game in two years.

He is a beautiful compliment to Noel or Embiid too because he is a walking floor spacing machine.

I think he'll be a good floor spacer too, but why do you want to use the #3 pick on a spot up shooter that doesn't really do anything else at a high level?

I love his face-up game and line-up versatility. I just don't think he has the prerequisite inside game to be a volume scorer. Bosh and Gasol worked inside / out. At the roots of their game, they were talented post scorers as prospects. Zinger is the opposite. He has the face-up game and now has to develop inside. Which is very difficult.

I don't think that that is all that he is. He should be a terror in the pick and roll because he can shoot it or drive it. He can shoot off the dribble too.

He is also an athletic defender and Rim protector.

He is a matchup nightmare on offense and defense.

I just don't see that enough on tape to be comfortable selecting him that high.

Well I didn't say that I was comfortable with it either. I just think that we should do it. Lol

Whatever Hinkie decides I will be fine with in the end.

Not that I was ever really off the Russell bandwagon, but I'm starting to feel more and more like it's going to be him tomorrow. If so, Embiid is going to score a **** load more points because of him. I just hope he can improve his strength, athleticism, defensive prowess, and right hand.

Russell will be better than Mudiay the first two years or so but I think in 5 years Mudiay will be the better player. Need Mudiay. Still love Russell though.

You can pass on Porzingis and have him turn into a star and not feel too bad about it IMO. We get killed for passing on Pierce for Hughes...not Dirk. We pass on Russell for Porzingis and he bodies us in New York 4 times a year and it looks a lot worse.

Russell will be better than Mudiay every year from now on. Mudiay is NEVER going to shoot well enough to be a star. He'll top out as a fringe all-star ala Jrue Holiday. Which is nice for a pick in the teens, but you want more at #3 overall.

Really? Cause I'll be pretty pissed if Russell can't beat his man off the dribble and becomes a nice player for us while Porzingis turns into Nowitzki reincarnated.

Not saying that's going to happen, but I think it goes both ways.

I can't wait for the "How do you turn down a 7'2 PF with a 7'6 wingspan, has athleticism, can stroke it from deep, and is a gym rat?! The Sixers are idiots!"

Those guys will call us idiots no matter what..we could get Towns, have him flop and Kaminsky turn into a star and get shat on.

Personally, its a Turner situation in which I won't be as mad if Russell turns out just okay and Porzingis turns into a star just because of the risk really. Whereas if I have to watch Russell be badass in New York while Porzingis is getting bodied, I'll be hella pissed.

and I'm not as high on Russell as many.

So thankful that Sam Hinkie doesn't give an ish what people think or what the "consensus" is. He will go against the "consensus" if he thinks it is wrong. Which is not the case for most front office execs. So I fully trust him to make the right decision, which I believe will be D'Angelo Russell.

Hinkie should take Russell at #3 and then give the Knicks a godfather offer for #4. Lakers 2016 1st, Heat 2016 1st, Saric, Micic, multiple 2nds. Then we have Russell and Porzingis 8-)
