Re: Woj: Batum to Charlotte, Vonleh + Gerald to Portland
WTF. I come in from playing disc golf and the whole damn roster is upside down.
Batum for Vonleh and Hobe: I think I like this trade. I've always been a Batum fan and I think this past year was an anomaly. Would prefer Zeller, obviously. Who we draft at 9 really makes or breaks this trade for me.
Lamb for tattooed corpse of Matt Barnes: YESSSSSSSS! Too good to be true. So much forum drama, the Charlotte board will be better than GoT.

lol id certainly hope so.
For real. Like there was any question.
MKG is a year older and hopefully starting to fill out and with the way the NBA is going back to small ball, I'm wondering if we might actually see a lot of:
Kemba
Lamb
Batum
MKG
Zeller (or Biz)

could easily see this. Lamb could also be Booker

I'm starting to calm down now. BUT
Vonleh better have been straight up (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Seriously. Giving up a on clear project player one year into the project (after we developed Biz of all people who was an even larger project) is just... All this just reflects how little faith all of us have in our developmental coaches. Vonleh has too many tools to be a throw away.

Kings did the same with Thomas Robinson. Sometimes its best to cash in your chips early before you get screwed in the long run.

Anyone but Turner (will curse the heavens) or Kaminsky (will roll eyes at the heavens).

True. People had a lot of faith in Vonleh - but at the same time, its only because he didn't play. There wasn't any visible reason to not have faith in the rookie. He never got meaningful minutes and his leash was 2 inches long. The only option was hope tbh.
Maybe we are cashing out early... I've just never seen a young guy with as many tools as Vonleh thrown to the bushes for the right to pay a nevergonnabea all-star the following year.

Dammit, you scratched off 2 on my list of 4. Oubre and Booker are still alive.

He is great but not a two way player really. I just want him functional on offense with his great defense. Noah had potential to be very good on both ends.

Batum had injury problems last year; he will regress to the mean and be a wicked two way player. If we believe strongly in a PF/C with this choice than better we trade now while we have leverage. We need shooting in the worst way as well.

So did every other player we've drafted in the last 5 years

I never thought Biz, MKG or Zeller had the same type of offensive potential or that Zeller or Kemba had the defensive potential. Zeller has shocked me with his perimeter defense though.

Don't know if the tweet has been posted here (i'm assuming it has though) about Vonleh's inability to understand plays and his lack of feel for the game, but I think that sums it up. We've already gone through the same thing with Biz and I think he is a much better defender than Vonleh will ever be.

Nobody on this team looks like they know what is going on. That isn't a player problem it is a coaching problem which should have been the first major move of the offseason.

I may agree with this more than anything else I have ever read on a sports forum, Clifford is an idiot

Oh i agree. If clifford doesn't get it right this year with a team that has the 3 pt shooting to surround Al like last year's team so dearly missed then he can kiss my ass
