Who you want to be a champion next year?

Post#1 » by Damkac » Fri Jun 19, 2015 8:03 am

Other than Suns what team you want to win championship next year?

I'm happy with GSW getting one but next year I root for OKC. Really want Durant to get his ring. My second option would be Memphis.
Who I don't want to win are Cleveland, Houston and LA.

OKC, Durant's gotta get one. After that, I'm rooting for the Gasol brothers. (unless Marc ends up in somewhere like LA, SA)

Not the Cavs. Lebron literally gets everything he wants. I enjoy watching him not get everything handed to him. I like the Bulls team. Can't think of another team.
I like Durant. But I think he'll get one eventually. Rather root for an underdog.

OKC

And its not that I want them to win - I just want them to be healthy with Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka with the group around them. They made some great moves at the dealine adding Kanter, Singler and Augustin and sadly, the injuries precluded them from competing.

I would have felt better about OKC with Gentry (as personally, I bet all things equal he would be better than Donovan) - but I just hope OKC is injury free next year and we see what they can do with a healthy team and a real coach. Brooks sucked

Memphis, I think they could have won it this year if they had better shooting and a healthy Conley. They have always been a team to look up to, great front office, they deserve one. If they were in the East they would be perennial contenders.

I definitely pull for the Thunder as my second team. They have had such bad injury luck the last three years that I hope they can stay healthy and have a great season. Will be interesting to see how Billy Donovan does, but it would be hard to fail with that team. However I guess the bar is set pretty high and if they don't at least get to the finals, or conference finals it will probably be a disappointing year.

It is out of the question to have an eastern team win the title. Out of the west - Memphis seem like the only contender still trying to play basketball the way it's supposed to be played (besides the Spurs, who i will not pick for obvious reasons), so Memphis is my choice.

you are not funny, just embarrassing yourself.
Probably no one will get what i mean, but unlike you guys in the US, people don't think that sports = schoolgirls' drama. For everyone else in the world sports is about competition on equal terms and team sports are about strategy, tactics, cohesion, knowing your teammates and achieving more through cooperation than the individual parts are capable of. And doing all this for the logo on your chest.
The "star" model that Stern and co. invented will kill this game and i think it did as far as the NBA is concerned. Nobody cares about the game - not the players, not the organisations and most sadly, not the fans. Want proof? Go back 5+ years in this forum and read the discussions - most of them were about which player need to improve what, where the team lacks on defense or offense and how to improve, what the coach could have done better...stuff about basketball.
Look today - all the game threads combined from the season can't measure up to a single trade or draft thread. It's all you care about and if it was up to you the roster would be blown completely every two weeks and come draft time everyone, capable of dribbling the ball would be sold for draft picks. Pathetic...no other word to describe it.
So yeah...the way it's supposed to be played.

P.S.: The truth has been spoken

Lots of people here answers "Suns or I don't give a...."
I really can't belive all other 29 NBA teams are equally irrelevant for you. You must like some teams more/less than the others.

I'm also surprised more people don't pull for another team to take it if the Suns are out of it.

I like several players on the warriors so I go with them. I like Westbrook and Durant tootoo but i go for the warriors if the Suns are bad-mediocre.

I'm looking forward to seeing if Chicago's offense becomes waychable with their new coach.

If every team were healthy OKC would win it all. They probably take out San Antonio two years ago if Ibaka was playing. Now with a deep frontcourt; Ibaka, Adam, Kanter and McGary... Lookout for them.

The other 29 teams aren't equally irrelevant for me. If the Suns are out of it, I just want to see good basketball. I don't tend to root for one team over another. I was kind of hoping Lebron would find a way to force a game 7 against the Warriors this year because his finals performance was pretty amazing to watch, as was the Warriors' team performance. I do tend to have a Western Conference bias, but there seems to be more talent and better basketball played than in the Eastern Conference.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.
