Mock Draft Competition - LukasBMW winner...And1 from all!

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Wed Jun 24, 2015 11:39 pm

I'm not sure if people would be interested in doing this, but I've done it in the past, and have seen people posting mocks, and in these threads with a ton of posts, no one will remember YOUR mock.

SO, for those interested, we could do a mock draft competition where you make your projection on who gets drafted at each spot (and we could do the top 14 or top 20)...and then you get points for how far off you were on that player being picked.

For example, if you picked a guy to go 6th, and he went 10th, you get 4 points.

But lowest point total wins.

The winner would get a great prize. An And1 from everyone (hopefully)

Thoughts? If people are interested, we can run it...if not, I will delete thread.

Well, the key ended up being making sure you nailed the right 14, or at least not picking someone who ended up sliding into the 20s....many did with Portis, some with RHJ....Winslow and WCS hurt many...and a couple of people got very close on them, and may have won, but then picked Portis at 13 and it killed them....so hats off to Lukas BWW with a score of 16

Final tally:

LukasBMW - 16
Ulquiorra - 19
DRK - 20
1UPZ - 23....looking good until Portis pick...but realized you didn't have WCS in there, so that's really what killed you
Sunsss - 23...in lead until last pick
Djedefre - 24...tied for lead until last pick
JTrain - 25
STEV13 - 25
TASTIC - 25...also tied for lead up to that last pick...ironically the one lotto pick you missed...Booker
Qwigglez - 27
nevetsov -28
Jarlaxle - 28...if it was top 10, you would have been very close

Well, I was looking for thoughts and suggestions....I thought either the lottery or top 20 would be good....it looks like we already have posts for the lottery, so perhaps we just stick to that, unless the ones who posted so far want to expand it to 20.

You can change your mocks until 30 minutes before the draft and then your picks will be locked.

If others are interested, make a post saying you are interested, and then you can edit it later with your mock. I just want to see how many people we have.

Unless those who have picked 14 update theirs to 20, we will stick to 14. I will keep this at 14 unless everyone updates their list to 20 by 2 hours before the draft.

I'll give it a crack. I've seen about 3 NCAA games this year but have been watching a heap of DX vids over the last week or so...

1 MIN - Karl-Anthony Towns
2 LAL - D'Angelo Russell (traded to SAC in a DMC deal) Also think he's the best player in the draft...
3 PHI - Emmanuel Mudiay
4 NY – Jahlil Okafor (I smell a slip for some reason, NY can’t pass on him at 4)
5 ORL – Kristaps Porzingis
6 SAC – Willie Cauley-Stein
7 DEN – Mario Hezonja
8 DET – Stanley Johnson
9 Charlotte – Justise Winslow
10 Miami – Trey Lyles
11 Pacers – Frank Kaminsky
12 Utah – Cameron Payne
13 PHX - Myles Turner
14 OKC – Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

25.....very close until that last pick...one of the few that got close on WCS and Winslow...which killed most people.

1. Karl-Anthony Towns (consensus here, I think)
2. Jahlil Okafor
3. D'Angelo Russell (agree that he is the best player in the class for now)
4. Mario Hezonja (tons of potential)
5. Kristaps Porzingis ('cause all this hype, has a huge bust potential)
6. Justise Winslow
7. Stanley Johnson (as far as I'm concerned potential steal of the draft, better than Winslow overall)
8. Willie Cauley-Stein
9. Frank Kaminsky
10. Myles Turner
11. Trey Lyles
12. Cameron Payne
13. Devin Booker
14. Bobby Portis

24 Damn close until that last pick.
