2015 NBA Draft Day Thread

Post#1 » by ComboGuardCity » Thu Jun 25, 2015 7:17 am

It's officially draft day. 7PM EST

Biggest rumors so far:

Cousins for #2, clarkson, and Randle. Does that make the Kings take a wing at 6?

Most want to hear: Winslow
Some want to hear: Johnson
No one wants to hear: Dekker

Right off the bat I want to question something

Will this draft be spoiler free or not? ( aka sometimes Woj gets the scoop before the pick is announced )
I'd like to view it in real time if possible and I think I was at work last time, were there any restrictions last time?
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Butler removing rearview mirror in his car as a symbol to never look back

With Randle/Gay/McLemore, I see them taking Okafor at 2 and Mudiay at 6.

Okafor and Randle are an awful fit together, that lineup has no shooting, McLemore possibly down the road I suppose. I wouldn't be shocked if they took Russell at #2 and Porzingis at #6, Randle is a bum, he won't last long in the league.

Clarkston
Russell
Gay
Porzingis

I think Kings would go Russell at 2 and WCS at 6.

Don't think Zingus lasts until 6.

He'll go no later than 5 IMO

I think the Kings should take Okafor at #2, then take Jennings/#8 from us for #6. :)

At #6, one/both of Winslow/Hez will be there.

A lot of trades going down, but none of them exchanging draft picks.

Kind of bummed we whiffed on the Batum deal. Charlotte got a nice deal there.

Latest rumor is Kings want to move back in the top 10, with Hezonja the likely pick at #6. I wonder if they are working Stan to try to get him to take on Thompson or Landry to move up to #6. I'd take on Thompson to move up 2 spots and guarantee Winslow or Hezonja, his deal runs for 2 more years but it's only partially guaranteed in '16 for $2.5 mil, pocket change with the exploding cap.

If Kings get the #2 pick, I think Russell will be the pick. The ownership always said they wanted to replicate GSW style of play and Russell would perfectly in that kind of a system. With #6, they'd probably get WCS or Mudiay or Booker even (assuming Porzingis is gone).

I feel like Stan is going to try hard to move up to 6 so he can get Hezonja.

There's a rumor they'd got Hezonja at #6, but I think Stan is really dialed in on Mario and that's smoke to get us to make a deal. Flipping Cousins and flipping down to #8 while walking out with Russell / Randle / WCS + dumping salary or adding other assets is not bad at all.

I'd do that too. Thompson could back-up Dre so it actually fills a need for us, and we leapfrog Denver and Sacto - who could both be after our targeted dudes. I'd like to do it ASAP, so Winslow could be on the board as well if crazy things happen in the top five.

Agreed. They could also trade down from #6 if say, Mario and Kristaps are gone, and get Payne at 8-12 and add another asset.

Payne--Russell--Gay--Randle--??

Not bad at all. That team would be fun to watch, too.

IMO Kings want WCS but are hesitant to take him at 6. They are floating Hezonja to get someone to bite on trading up.

This is what I'm thinking as well. And with a lot of talk out there that Stan really wants Hezonja and now kings saying they are targeting Hezonja if they don't trade back it makes to much sense.
