I have no knowledge of local Michigan radio personalities, having never lived there or anywhere near there.

Sure seems like the sort of thing that's BS though. I hope he's right that we don't want Johnson though.

And that's the point too many in here are missing...whether you like him or not...I put money on him having no sources and just going of a "rumor" nothing more..

I was listening to the show today and although I didn't listen from start to finish I didn't hear him mention a rumor or an inside scoop.

He was just saying he preferred Hezonja or Oubre because he saw way more upside in them and he viewed Stanley Johnson as having a much lower ceiling.

By the way how did you become a Pistons and Tigers fan never having lived near Detroit?

You're confusing Ford with Wojnarowski. There was a big expose last year when Dumars was fired that Joe was Woj's Pistons source and ally. Unless I'm out of the loop on rumor secrets.

Ford was pretty solid with Detroit draft rumors and such. But last year and this year he hasn't been anywhere near as concrete. There wasn't much to work with last year without the Pistons drafting in the first round but even just going off of this year you can tell he's not really in the loop. Just vaguely mentioning that they like basically all of the wing prospects. Before the Van Gundy regime I'm confident he would have it narrowed down.

I remember the thing about Dumars last year was him leaking important league information to the media and being massively fined for it.

It's just easy to infer that Dumars was willing to leak to Ford if he was willing to leak to Woj. Would explain how Ford had such a good idea of what the Pistons wanted to do.

Valenti is a moron and every draft he always says something and is usually wrong. He said the year burke was drafted that dumars was an idiot for drafting kcp ahead of him and called burke a future star player,if that dont convience you, then what will.

Also foster use to be a beat writter for detroit paper and even he dosent get anymore scoops.Back when we 1st signed smith mike also said that smith was better than moose, then after the 1st season with smith, mike claimed he needed another year and it was because he wasant starting at pf,after last season mike said dumars was a moron for signing smith at the time and said everyone knew that.

Now I was one of the posters around here who had smiths back, until about 8 games in this last season, but the difference between I and him,is he gets paid to be a sports radio guy and you would think he would be on a higher level than a bunch of people on a sports forum,Goes to show you , we know just as much as they do,its called speculation lol.

Wouldn't mind Oubre, but just seems like he won't hit the potential he has, if he does it will be 3-4 years more than likely, that's what I see

The guy ran a hate train for KCP for an entire year while saying " I cant believe they didnt pick burke".

SVG is a pro, unlike Dumars. He doesn't leak stuff to make friends in the media, because he doesn't give a flying frog fart what the Internet or columnists have to say. He and his team make up their own minds and trust their process. We didn't hear anything about picking up Ersan and we aren't going to know for sure who the pick is until it's announced.

That said, I hope this is right and it's not Johnson. He'd be useful and all, but I don't want another grinder wing.

I was in the minority there, I took a lot of crap at work over not wanting Burke, Jameer 2.0. That's all I can see when I see Burke. Whenever I see him, I think of Billups owning Nelson in the post in the playoffs when Chauncey was in his prime.

I tried listening to 97.1 on the way back from the airport last year. After about three minutes, I decided to listen to my music instead. If I want to hear people spout nonsense about sports, I'll go to the bar.

Now, I'll only use it if I'm on the road and I just want to catch the Tigers or the Pistons. Aside from that, radio = meh.

I couldn't see past the size, he's a "little person" out there. He isn't particularly athletic. He's a good shooter, but his ability to finish in the lane was problematic. I loved him as a Wolverine, but he didn't show me anything that made me say "sure-fire" NBA player. As much as KCP frustrates me (dude work on the shot selection), I still love his intensity on the defensive end and his running the fastbreak wings. He's got legit size and is a 2-way player. I also like that KCP takes it to the rim hard, even if he misses a dunk, he's not going in weak. He will get some calls and get to the line when you attack like that.

Here is to hoping that KCP can continue to grow as a player and develop into the player he can become. I love the Kerry Kittles comparision. He flies on the wings on the fastbreak and plays in your face D. Go KCP.
