Yes. But they tried, and he wanted to leave as well, so he did. They moved on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Presti give him a choice? I thought I remember Harden saying that he got a call that was like "This is our highest offer. You can take it or we can trade you. Let me know in an hour." IIRC Harden was really conflicted and had to make a rushed decision, and he chose to turn down the offer, which obviously led to the trade.

Presti made him an offer, and Harden also could have taken it. He also apparently from people I've heard from who know w/in the org that Harden wanted his own team.

That said, this is entirely a different trade from that anyway. Best to Lambo in Charlotte.

Honestly this officially says that internally the OKC realize the Harden trade was bad and are moving on.

I know the subject has been beat to death but this shows they messed up. Lamb was suppose to be their Ginobili sixth man game changer. Maybe they didn't want to pay him but this just shows OKC is a money saving frontoffice with no regard to longterm team chemistry.

However the brightside is swingmen are easier to get than quality bigmen so the OKC are fine as long as they keep Kanter/Adam/Ibaka longterm.


OKC could have probably did a sign and trade with Minny and gotten something for Kevin Martin. Dumping Lamb means this was basically Harden for Adams.
