If the Kings pass on Willie Cauley-Stein, he could be in free fall. I think Pacers could pass at 11. Could go 13. Could go 21.

I would be unhappy if we passed on WCS even with whatever injury issues he has.

A good team won't allow WCS to drop to 21.

I remember Darrell Arthur dropping from like 4-6 to about 30!? Granted he isn't a top 6 talent but it's amazing how some guys drop once that injury tag is attached. Same with Sullinger a couple years ago...

Me too. I don't think there's any way we pass on him, but hey I was celebrating us picking Kawhi when he fell & we did not. Big time let down.

If we draft Stanimal or Cauley-Stein I will be very happy. These guys are tremendous defenders, we need defense badly.
I think (and hope) that Bledsoe, Knight, Warren and Markieff (if he is not traded) can put enough points on our scoreboard.

The difference is Rivers can't shoot and Booker is Klay Thompson 2.0 in regards to shooting.

Well not really. Thompson can keep defenders honest by faking them out and driving to the rim, thus opening space also for his shooting. Booker can't, he won't get that space.

If Phil wants to trade the #4 for a lotto pick and a vet PG, and we're unwilling to give up Bledsoe and the #13, why don't we move Bled to a third team who wants an upgrade at PG, and we send that PG to the Knicks, and we collect the difference (draft pick or player) from the team that gets an upgrade?

:D Anyone follow that? I thought of the Raps and Hornets, but don't think either would go for it.

How many 25 year old point guards with great defense put up stats like his in the league? He would be an all star in the East. Forget about Bledsoe's leadership abilities. He can be a third option on an awesome team. That means he is pretty good. The 9th pick is something I would ask for if I was trading Markieff and I hate Markieff haha.

This. Our fan base drastically underrates Bledsoe because he isn't a superstar at 25, and somehow thinks any top 10 pick will be a better chance of getting a superstar. Curry was a borderline all star until this season, when he turned 27. How everyone is so absolutely sure Bledsoe can't be an all-star is beyond me. Nash developed late also. The fact is there are maybe 2-3 PGs as good as Bledsoe in this league who are his age or younger. Trading him for 9 is a monumental disaster that would set us back half a decade imo.

This is pretty much why its a good thing nobody here is the Suns GM.

Here's where I stand:

If we trade up to 4: I want Porzingis or Russell (assuming Okafor is gone).
If we trade up to 8-12 range: I want Stanimal or Turner.
If we stay at 13: Turner or WCS or Portis

Maybe, but he doesn't have the quickness or explosiveness really so I'm not holding my breath for that.

If the Suns stick with their No. 13 pick in the NBA draft, they likely will make a choice among big men with varying shooting ability.
That group features Texas' Myles Turner, Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky and Arkansas' Bobby Portis. The draft's first hour of top-12 surprises could complicate the Suns' choice if a much-needed shooter like Kentucky guard Devin Booker falls or a high-ceiling player like Arizona small forward Stanley Johnson tumbles.

The Suns, who also pick at No. 44, follow three teams in the first-round draft order — Miami, Indiana and Utah — that could be interested in big men too. That puts power forwards like Louisville's hard-nosed Montrezl Harrell or Kentucky's versatile Trey Lyles in play for Phoenix too. If a big man slips farther than expected to No. 13, it would be Kentucky defensive star Willie Cauley-Stein for fear of a chronic ankle issue.

Draft talent is in the eye of the beholder, especially after the top seven of this year's bunch. One team's 10th-ranked player could be No. 20 on another team's board. In the Suns' view, Turner would be an ideal pick with upside at 19 years told. For college basketball fans, it might be hard to consider Turner in the same conversation as Kaminsky but he did not have the same opportunity or a full college career of seasoning.

After reading the report, I think our four targets are ....

Kaminsky, Turner, Stanley Johnson and Booker.
They think that Johnson and Booker would be gone, so it would be whoever is left between Kaminsky and Turner.
Portis would be the "desperation" option if all four are gone.

I think all those guys will be gone.

Yeah, I heard that a few days ago and that's why I said Okafor could conceivably slip to 4 if Philly then takes Porzingis, or even Mudiay who they were high on at one time.

Gambo said if most mocks are accurate, and the consensus top 10 guys are gone, our order would be this:

Frank
Devin
Myles

Even though people are reporting that the Suns want Kaminsky, he really doesn't seem to be a McD type of guy to me. McD is a scout, and it seems like he would like long term projections, measurements, upside, etc.

But I know he also wants to get someone ready to contribute because "we have too many young guys".

@SportsWhispers: Blockbuster deal in the works if Russell goes #2 to #Lakers: (See next tweet)

@SportsWhispers: One scenario: Boston trading up to #3 (Okafor), Suns to #4 (Prozingis), 76ers to #13 & Knicks to #16. E.Bledsoe to NY, M.Smart to PHI

I'm with you except for the WCS part. And I also wouldn't mind Hezonja at 4.

@SportsWhispers: Many more pieces involved. This all hinges on whether the Lakers take D'Angelo Russell at #2. Stay Tuned

But it is draft day, and I do understand that it would really suck as a huge fan to be suspended on draft day, but this is a warning and if you slide toward any sort of personal attack today or any other day, you will be suspended.
