Who Do You Want Us to Draft?
We've got the 24th pick and there are some solid prospects projected to go in that range. So who do you want?
My pick would be Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. I think he'll be like MKG. His impact from his defense alone will be tremendous.

See, I think we can easily get a guy like Mo Williams in free agency for the MLE though. I'd rather use our pick on RHJ, because he perfectly fills the backup SF position, and defensive game changers like him are hard to find.

Don't get overly excited. It's unlikely we draft anyone. Will most likely trade the pick for a pick next year. We need the roster spot for a vet.

Anderson if he's there. Otherwise best PG available.

Minnesota will send the Cavaliers No. 31 and 36 in this draft, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

I was excited we got Jones as a decent backup pg Then we trade him away because with the cap rules we dont want to pay the 24th pick what will cost 5+ million a year
Crap I hate the CBA

I suspect we don't want the cap holds.

Probably gonna draft euro stash players or trade for future pick.

Or, they could go with Harrell, take a chance on Upshaw or go with Hanlan for a backup pg. Smaller, non-guaranteed contracts. I cant see them making three picks and not have one be a draft and stash, but they do have the first pick so they can get whoever they want out of what is left.

Osman is a good 2nd round pick. Team player, hard worker, and model professional. No exceptional talent but no weak spots either. He will easily be a 15-20 minute rotation player, high energy guy off the bench. He is getting a ton of experience with Turkish NT playing big tournaments every summer and a starter for an elite Euroleague team.

Good draft. A stash and a solid 5th big who is older and can play both the 4 and 5.

Really love Christmas. One of my favorite players in the draft. If he was 3 years younger he would have been top 15. I don't think we end up keeping him though. Don't have the roster spot unless someone leaves. Summer league should be fun though.

I give this draft a C. Hated that we traded back (I wish we could have traded up and taken RHJ, or picked Kevin Looney at 24). Not a fan of Osman as a prospect, as well as the fact that he won't come over for at least 2 years. I like the Rakeem pick though. He'll be a nice fifth big for us. Finally, I have meh feelings regarding Sir'Dominic Pointer. Personally I would have taken Christian Wood instead.

Looney slipped because of health issues. Teams think he might need surgery.

True, but he has undeniable upside. With a late first round pick, you can't really ask for much more.

If you're the one signing the checks, I think you can ask not to pay millions more in guaranteed salary and luxury taxes to a player who might not even take the court for you this season. Our payroll could already be $200 million as it is. I don't have a problem with not wanting to guarantee salary and rosters spots to rookies taken late in the first round. If a player in the second round doesn't make the cut, there's no worries about that.

Re: Who Do You Want Us to Draft?
It really didn't make any sense to add the salary and take up a roster spot for someone with a very low likelihood of helping the team. I'm with FrontPageNews here in that I doubt Christmas makes the team. I expect both him and Sir'whatever to be used in the Haywood trade.
Were at the point where we can add guys through FA who are significantly better than anything we can draft outside of the lotto. For every Manu and Tony Parker there are 50 Carrick Felix's. Better to play the odds and get a known commodity. (Looking at you MoGotti)

Neither Haywood nor Perkins will be back (and Marion is already gone). That's at least three open spots even if we keep (crosses fingers) all our free agents. I don't see any reason Christmas (if he's capable) couldn't take one of those spots.
Part of the problem in the playoffs was that half our bench was too old and unathletic to give us anything. Christmas is a run/jump athlete that can defend a little. We need him, and a wing (maybe it can be Sir'Eyenga or whatever his name is) of the same mold along with Mo Williams or whoever they bring in at PG.
