Draft Day 2015

Post#1 » by ICMTM » Thu Jun 25, 2015 6:29 pm

You can post things here about the draft whether it be Kings related or not. Hopefully more Kings related?

It appears the guy the Kings want is Hezonja. According to Carmichael Dave there was this nugget:

And this one:

What do you think?

This thread is going to be put to use, I expect 15 pages at least tonight

Carmichael Dave has to know better about Stauskas value right?

I don't have a prob with Mudiay or Hezonja, there will be a good selection available

LOL at Stauskas getting us to the 4.

I'll be happy if we draft WCS or Mario.

I'll be content if we draft Winslow

I'll be scared if its Porzingis

Pissed off if it is Mudiay

WTF if it is anyone else.

We get all this crap because we're the only ones who can take it. That's how I justify anything that has and will happen.

These hacks (a.k.a reporters) will pass on ANY info that is fed to them just to make themselves seem like they are in the know....it is tough to read between all these skewed lines !!1

My version of this years "I somehow want these players to be Kings by the end of the night" is:

Montrez Harrell and Cedi Osman. Both are great energy players and bring it game in, game out. I watched Osman a few times on NBA TV and he just flat brings it. I think he could be a steal in this draft.

- Would be fine with WCS but his condition(s)/injury concerns kinda scares me.
- Winslow is a-ok in my books -- although he's closer to a 2 than a 3, imo. BMac or Stauskas will need to go if that's the case.
- Mudiay is growing on me. Yes, he is an attack guard that has a shaky jumper but his passing abilities and unselfishness is welcoming.
- Hezonja would be weird but I would be open to the idea.
- I don't see Porzingis falling to the Kings' laps but if they do, I think you have to take him just by the sheer value and potential.

I can't think of a scenario where one of these guys won't be here:

Winslow
Mudiay
Super Mario

the draft board doesn't need to be any deeper than this. The kings can't sit and wait on Porzingis and neither can the Knicks. If Orlando doesn't pick him, then he is in free fall.... Unless this happens :) http://streamable.com/rf3i

By the way, Draft express has their final mock up and FINALLY has us taking Winslow.

I don't see us keeping Winslow. Also if Russell goes 2 can you see Okafor going 4? I don't know why Mudiay was caught wearing 6ers gear, but if Russell is gone Okafor makes little sense for them. Mudiay does and hope he doesn't bust.

The point is NYK takes Okafor, ORL has reported to be high on Prozingis. I can see that being the only way we get Hezonja.

Why not? The guy can play either wing spot effectively. If you think he's more a 2 it isn't like Steak sauce and Ben Mac have been doing a bang up job. Neither of those guys can move to small forward either. There is always the option to move either of those guys, but I think Winslow can easily play big minutes at small forward. He is going to be tasked at guarding the best perimeter player on the other team wherever that guy plays.

For example, Jimmy Butler plays shooting guard, but he will guard LeBron james no matter if LeBron is slotted at small forward or power forward in that lineup.

I'll be happy if we end up with best player available (Winslow, Porzingis or Mario) or WCS. Doubt Mudiay will drop to 6 and not sure FO has enough info to pick him if available.

Winslow and Trey Lyles didn't want to work out here. At least Mudiay didn't workout with anyone lower than 5, which isn't a personal issue with Sacramento.

Turner was 13ish for a long long time, why would we take him now?

It's like the college March Madness brackets, everyone trying to "nail" the wtf pick. Of course we are the ones with the wtf pick.

I do see the possibility of Porzingis at 6 maybe, given the situations of NY and Orl, that is an interesting option if it happens given how set a lot of us were for NBA ready

That doesn't mean anything. Steph curry did everything he could to make sure he wasn't drafted by the warriors. Dion Waiters never worked out for Cleveland. Guys are picked all the time by clubs that didn't work them out.

OK, now I'm starting to think reporters are getting the idea that for some reason water being wet is a bad thing. Didn't Karl already admit he doesn't really even know much about the draft and prefers to stay out of it? Then again, he's also said a few things that he's supposedly gone back on but still. Him being out of loop according to him is par for the course!
