Whatever. Positivity has **** to do with it, especially when it was unrealistic.

What some of you call pessimism is actually just the truth. Nothing more or less.

How does my ass taste, crybaby?

He's going to parlay this into a win for himself.

"Danny didn't think there was anybody worth trading up for"

I can see it now.

Again the question is what did the Celtics lose...

Has anyone on this board come out as a huge Willie Cauley Stein, Mudiay or Stan Johnson fan? That's the 6-8 picks in the draft... Winslow got passed over for Kaminsky (and I know that's Charlotte) but still... it says something about how his game translated to workouts.

I was hopeful the team could move up... still a ton of excellent players left. Booker, Payne, Anderson, Jones. One of those guys gets picked and I'm still very positive moving past draft night.

Stop being caught up in what the tankers are saying and open your eyes. It's a bad night. I'm not a tanker. Not gloating about anything

I'm sure Melo is happy about playing with D-leaguers next year.

Ainge has traded our picks and Smart for Anthony, that's why ;)

At least if we get Portis, we'll know the staff has been high on him for months. I trust this brain trust.

Gotta agree with canman. I would want Winslow, but Miami is going to struggle anyway. The guy I would have liked is Okafor.

As far as assets. The problem with all these assets is people don't like to make trades when the guy could pay more. It's like, well, "you can afford it" syndrome.

Other GMs know we can offer more, so our price is higher. The fact the Hornets went and got Kaminsky, ridiculous. They could have traded down and got him or could have got KO and No. 16 for Kaminsky.

That's not how it works generally in a rational negotiation. If you value the assets being offered more than your own, even if the other person can offer more, you'd still accept the offer if it's firmly better in your mind. What does this tell us?

a) Danny didn't value Winslow enough to offer enough to get him
or
b) we didn't have the assets to move up

It has to be A. We had plenty of assets to move from 16 to 9. If we thought he was an all-star, fine.

What we also have learned is that the Lakers are out of Boogie Cousins derby. They don't have an asset to trade. I think that's a deal we make sometime next month. We are holding these picks for trades. Not rookies.

Too bad. I wanted Okafor.

Realistic expectations at this point: snag a role player at 16.

Upside: a starter on a title team.

Waaaay upside: star that nobody else knows about.

Well, when you have so many tools arguing otherwise all year, proclaiming themselves basketball geniuses, it's easy to gloat about what anyone with half a brain could have foreseen. Deal with it.

Cool, man. You're talking about one guy.

I hope you're having fun gloating about us not picking Winslow or whatever you're gloating about. Kind of sad, but have at it.

Nobody's talking just about Winslow. It was never just about just Winslow.

I'd be happy with Andrew Harrison in the second round

Pick makes sense for Phoenix.. So we've got OKC and Atlanta ahead of us.. Hawks are going to take Portis, especially with rumors Milsapp goes back to Utah. OKC supposedly loved Payne.. Oubre and Dekker are in there.. Maybe Payne slips to 16, that would be a nice consolation..

I will never root for a tank. But this is the drawback. Eff it and steal Love in FA.

Nah. That's such a silly point of view. Everybody here loves the Celtics.

Don't always assume the "everything will be ok. Smart is a winner" posters are the only real fans

Seems like more guys are enjoying being right rather than being disappointed with how the night's gone so far. That's really the most depressing part for me right now.
