I can't help but laugh. There have been 0 trades. How is it Danny's fault that no one wants to trade? If teams were actually willing to trade someone would have moved up...but alas here we are.

I'm sure he would have moved some of those to get a sure fire stud like Okafor, but those picks clearly weren't seriously going to be traded. But he wasn't going to trade those very good assets for 9, because he's a smart GM dealing with idiots like Charlotte.

Maybe you are satisfied finishing in 16t place in a 30 team league where 5-6 teams try to lose on purpose, but I have standards.

Jesus, if Winslow was such a sure thing he probably doesn't make it to 10. Yes, there are cases of Dirk, PP, etc... but look at reality. More guys who drop fail.

Gotta agree with canman. I would want Winslow, but Miami is going to struggle anyway. The guy I would have liked is Okafor.

As far as assets. The problem with all these assets is people don't like to make trades when the guy could pay more. It's like, well, "you can afford it" syndrome.

Other GMs know we can offer more, so our price is higher. The fact the Hornets went and got Kaminsky, ridiculous. They could have traded down and got him or could have got KO and No. 16 for Kaminsky.

That's not how it works generally in a rational negotiation. If you value the assets being offered more than your own, even if the other person can offer more, you'd still accept the offer if it's firmly better in your mind. What does this tell us?

a) Danny didn't value Winslow enough to offer enough to get him
or
b) we didn't have the assets to move up

Unfortunately, something I read today said Danny is throwing very lowball offers. I hope Danny being stingy hasn't hurt our team over the years or this year.

If we don't make a make any trades this offseason, then don't delude yourselves into thinking any major free agents are coming to Boston. No Aldridge , No Jordan? No Butler, No Love.

Notice I said If we don't sign any major free agent. Emphasis on if. We needed this draft to make our team more attractive for free agents to want to come here. No good free agents is coming to the Celtics to play with Smart, Bradley and whatever rookies we draft.

Why should people be happy with how it's going? Okafor drops to 3 where the Celtics were rumored to be trying to trade to... nothing happens. Winslow falls to 9 and the Celtics were trying hard to get it done... nothing happens. And this is with a ton of assets, they still can't get anything done. Doesn't exactly bode well for the future in getting deals done if nobody wants draft picks. And even a reporter said they could sense the disappointment at the Celtics HQ after the failed trade to 9. If the front office is disappointed, why can't we be? It doesn't have to be all roses and sunshine all the time. Maybe later they'll make a big trade for Cousins or something. But right now? This sucks ass and it's disappointing as hell. I'd love for that to change down the road though.
