Wanted to see if Portis would drop to us... but hey if Oubre can defend in the NBA the way he did last year he will be very useful for us.

Really wanted a stretch 4. But who knows with mid-level draft picks. That EG picked him is not a good sign...

More like what about Randy trying to coach this kid. We needed a backup 2 and 3 assuming Pierce is gone. He can defend but how much will he play this year?

I'm not sure what to think about this. I'm just surprised, I guess. Doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason behind the pick. We already have Porter at small forward and I was expecting us to sign a cheap backup in free agency and let Otto do his thing. I guess we need a backup shooting guard so maybe Oubre can steal some minutes there.

Still, wanted Portis and it looks like he might have fallen to 19 either way.

Perhaps it's a conditional trade, we'll see.

My only concern is that we can't address young big depth without 2nd rounders. Lol I don't understand this, oubre has upside...but Portis is right there...

How did we not take portis

but i dont mind having Oubre on the bench...i'm not as down on him as most and think he has a slight chance at blowing up

EG hates having to sell off 2nds at the last minute.

Ernie can never have enough small forwards on the roster.

EG swung for the fences IMO. He probably had Oubre rated as a top 10 talent. Oubre was probably the most upside player left.

The best case scenario is that we now use our TPE to absorb Terrence Jones from Houston (who is reportedly looking to move him to generate cap space).

Ehhhhhhhhhh, this is hilarious. Boston picked Rozier, Milwaukee is picking Vaughn, Houston promised to Jones if the rumors are correct. So Portis would have fallen to 19 either way...it makes you wonder if Ernie could have kept this year's pick and sent next year's first to Atlanta.

If we regret not picking Bobby Portis in a couple of years, I'm gonna be mad at Ernie.

Would be intereting, if we trade our '16 first for him and portis is still on the board and we grab em. I don't understand, either way.
