I don't know what to think
Oubre isn't a bad pick but we still don't have a big worth a damn at PF under 30

Oubre -- I am very very happy with this deal (tho I hate to lose picks...). They got one of the most talented players in the draft -- and gave up not that much.

Re: 2015 Draft Thread - Part 1
That was an incredibly cheap price to move up.
Oubre was rated anywhere from 12-22.
Seems like the views of the scouts on the guy is that he has all the ideal measurables to become a superstar and if he can hit his jumper consistently and his 3, he probably will become one, but there's a bit "if" there.
The thing I don't get is that we have Beal, Webster, and Porter. If there's a position we didn't need to make a move on, it was the 3. Why?
It is a swing for the fences pick as it definitely sounds like Oubre was the last guy available who has legit superstar potential, still, I just don't get it, are we just trying to copy the warriors?

It's a little more difficult to attract Durant when we now have 2 good young SF prospects on the roster.

Ok so I had a minute to calm down (hit some stuff, scream and cry). Maybe Randy thinks that Obre can be a back up two? maybe they wanted more size behind beal... its not a bad thing to have a guy who can play the 3 and the 2, that way he can play 30 minutes between two positions a game. If he pans out it could help you in the play off's where you only play 8-9 guys.

Still no confirmation anywhere, perhaps the Wizards are waiting to see what happens with the power forwards left on the board.

I think 2s & 3s are interchangeable. Plus, small-ball is the rage now.

He does have upside but unless Porter adds 20 lbs....lol I don't know.

Wow. Rozier goes 17th. Houston probably still wants a PG so Portis looks like he'll be there at #19.

If we sent a future 16 first, and Portis too I'll pay for a low class hooker for EG.

Everything I've read and heard says the same thing, pterodactyl wing span, outstanding athleticism, great on both sides of floor when his shot is falling. Guy has all star potential.
I like that.
I'm just worried because #1 there are a lot of concerns about his consistency on the offensive end, and #2 we don't have any need at that position and Portis projected to be a very good 4 which is exactly what we need.
Suggests to me we'll use the '16 offseason to address our issues at the 4 in FA and/or the draft. Looks like we're building small, Warriors style.

But he's KD's buddy, no?

KD at the stretch 4.

I think this is a good pick...if by the Ariza comparisons alone. We have no depth at SG/SF without Pierce and Oubre had the highest upside left. Wasn't he a projected lottery pick coming into his freshman year?
Ernie must be happy with our big rotation. Welcome back Mr Gooden.

Oubre ranked 12th in the stat geek compilation.

Re: 2015 Draft Thread - Part 1
Already over it, you can never have enough good players. This team is sorely lacking in youth, so if Oubre is the pick, I'm not even mad.
Would have been nice to infuse some youth at the 4/5 though, not like this team doesn't have plenty of it already on the wings.
What's with Ernie's obsession with SFs????

Durant can play PF as a stretch 4. or Oubre can. this changes nothing in regards to durant
