2015 Draft Thread - Part 1

Post#1921 » by J-Ves » Fri Jun 26, 2015 1:41 am

I like it. This guy strikes me as a player who should at the very least be a solid 2 way rotation player due to his very good physical tools. And his upside seems to be as a good starter who can be a great defender. The bad part is due to his youth and rawness he most likely won't be able to help the team for 3+ years, but I'm ok with that because our core is still young.

I'm not going to scream because I think based on what the scouts say, this guy belonged in an entirely different tier from guys like Portis and Dekker, think he had a top 10-12 grade last fall. Basically has a chance down the line to be one of the top 10 guys from this draft, or just a servicable guy. Like the prospect, but wished we just went after Portis, though Oubre definitely has a higher ceiling but also the dreaded lower floor.

Damn, Knicks trade Tim Hardaway Jr for the 19th pick (which goes to the Hawks). We take Grant.

Which 2nd rounders did we give up? Any way we can buy a 2nd can try to get R. Holmes? I assume we gave up this year's 2nd.

Portis and Looney are still on the board; I wonder if we can buy/trade our way into the back end of the first round.

There's no confirmation because these trades can't be official until July 1st. That's why Atlanta picked for us and we picked for Atlanta.

I agree. Seems like there's a nice opportunity to move back into the first round and get Portis.

I told y'all they'd take Jerian Grant.

I just didn't think it would be under these circumstances...
