I couldn't possibly venture a guess. But I do know one thing....

It will make me want to spit right in Danny Ainge's smug stupid face. Long may he burn...

This is false.

The Celtics can get away with playing three guard lineups because Rozier, Bradley and Smart are all so long and have great defensive ability.

Pressey was earning minutes for this team because of his defense on the ball and his ability to handle the ball and create off the bounce. Rozier can replace him, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him steal minutes from Bradley. He really is like Bradley, but more of a slasher, ball handler.

I think people will love him because he plays hard and with great energy. High, high upside pick.

The true cost of making the playoffs.

Never draft for need in the draft. You draft for talent. Louisville has been a top NCAA team for a couple years with Rozier being their best player. Great athlete, excellent defender, very slippery getting into the paint, little AI to his offensive game (with the questionable shooting to go with the crossover dribble).

Rozier is a good pick, a bit of a reach, but you have to get your guys in the draft. That's all that counts.

And yet - very clearly, the Celtics didn't get their guy, despite desperate attempts to move up.

Well, they weren't able to move up. That's neither here nor there though. It's all about making a pick and taking your guy. If Terry Rozier becomes all the things that Avery Bradley is, but he can handle and get to the rim, finish and draw fouls? That's a damn good player to have.

The Celtics got more athletic and they bumped Pressey out of the rotation. They're better right away, and Rozier, unlike Portis is an elite athlete and has great upside. If he can become a knock down shooter? Sky is the limit.

This "clown" is reeling right about now.

Danny is grabbing the bow tie kid glitter and all at 28. Loves his potential to be a rim protector over time

Yeah I don't doubt we tried to move up.. And I get that picks are expensive.. but so many teams were rumored to be moving down in the draft (especially the Knicks) that it's surprising nothing happened. Then again, the night's young and we have to make all our picks before we can trade them..

Such an unconvincing justification for the pick, though..

Definitely worth pointing out. Oubre, Portis and RHJ all sliding. Very interesting to see what happens between now and #28.

Some might see this as a reach, but Rozier has lottery pick talent. He is a tough, hard-nosed player who can get into the lane seemingly at will. He doesn't always display the wisest shot selection, but some of that can be attributed to Louisville's system. He's a natural born leader and really gets after it defensively, as his explosion is not reserved for just the offensive end. He will be a terror for any opposing backcourt alongside either Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart. Tremendous pick by Boston here.

LeBron has MAYBE three great years left. His decline has already started.

If there was something we needed, it was a defense-minded, undersized combo guard. Great pick, Ainge.

Celtics clearly aren't averse to drafting a guy who will be in Maine. They did it last year.

Agreed. I think it's entirely possible the team will take a step back next year from a pure wins POV. As Bulpett noted a few weeks back. That wouldn't be a terrible outcome.

I liked Rozier at 28, so not entirely disappointed that we got him, but would've liked him later. Shrug.

Also not sweating missing out on the early guys. After the top 5 I didn't think this draft was that great, and I've been cold on Winslow for a while after watching a lot of him at Duke (I'm an NC resident).

Oubre was picked 15th.

Rozier and Pressey will be hoisting 30 shots each in Maine this season.

Celtics do not have the singular asset that someone would trade a prospect like Okafor for though. There was no way the Celtics had a shot at something like that.

He won't be. Not behind IT, Smart, AB and Turner who'll play some minutes at pg.

Montrezl Harrell would be awesome, too...
