I would of spent the extra 8 million and got Danny Green instead. Because Danny Green will be ON the court for 30+ minutes as he can guard and shoot 3s. Booker will get yanked out a lot because he will likely get scored on a lot by other starters... he is an off-the bench SG until he becomes a good shut down defender... Klay Thompson is 6'7 and a very capable defender and high IQ. Booker to me is somewhere between JJ Reddick and Jodie Meeks.

There are 2-3 other players available that has ceiling far exceeding Booker's.

Booker is not the next Klay... Klay just entered the league 4 years ago.
We are still waiting for the next Hakeem, Robinson, Barkley, Malone, Drexler etc and its been over 15+ years.

I hope Booker becomes a legit starter, because it'll help the Suns progress... but I simply rather have Danny Green if the Suns wanted a dead-eye shooter who will be clearly better than Bogdanovic, Goodwin, Bullock etc.

Klay Thompson is an apt comparison. Klay Thompson is not in the class of all of the HOFer you mentioned.

My point was....
How could the next Klay come into the NBA 4 years after Klay just entered.
So I made an example of HOF players actually not having ANY replacement 15+ years after the'yve retired.

My point is... Booker cant be compared to Klay... he is just another "sharp" shooter SG coming into the NBA... but his huge upside is he is 18 years old... Plenty of time to develop.

I got you. You have to understand 18 year old Booker isn't being compared to Klay 24 year old Booker is.

To be fair, he was always going to around the late lotto region but if he drops into the mid-20's that would be huge for whoever picks him up.

Well, also to be fair, they were at pick 21 when I posted this, so 3-4 picks difference whether he's a steal or not? IDK, but yes, -- oh, and there he goes...

Didn't Charlotte HAVE pick 9? I wouldn't be surprised if Booker was the guy they wanted all along.

I would have selected Cameron Payne and Kevon Looney over Booker.

We can make some trade and grab Harrell, Looney or Hollis-Jefferson at this point of the draft.

The Suns draft another combo guard who will rot on the bench behind a average "vet" while making another (failed) run at the 8th seed... and some fans still buy in. Unbelievable.

Hell of a summer league dynasty this franchise is putting together. Can Sarver move the team to Lexington and let the city of Phoenix start over with an expansion team?

Doubt anyone is buying a playoff run for next season at this point.

Hollis-Jefferson is gone.

Still would love to get Harrell. Marcus Morris plus a 2nd rounder this year and a 2nd rounder next year....make it happen.

Thats the main reason I think McD drafted Booker...

He is 18... and elite at shooting.

They probably assume they can develop other aspects of his game in the next 3-4 years.

Goodwin and Booker mixed together would be the GOAT.
