Marcus smart was taken at #5 and his value is low. Why would we give up everything for a #9. Wake up people.

Sorry guys, you can't spin this night into a win. Freaking disaster.

One need going into the draft: talent. High-end talent.

Rozier has amazing talent. One of the best athletes in the draft.

The questions around him are what is he offensively? Is he an SG or a PG? Can he shoot. The talent is obvious though... and he's in the mold of other Ainge picks in this range with some interesting parallels to Rondo, Bradley and Tony Allen.

You think Bradley and Allen are high end basketball talent?

This is that moment where I tell you that defense wins championships. Not every player has to score 20 ppg for you to win championships. Guys like Tony Allen, Rondo, and Avery Bradley drop in drafts because people over value scoring.

But athleticism counts in my estimation of what a player can become. Rozier fits the mold of a high end talent because of what he brings athletically and defensively. Outside chance to be a major offensive difference maker too.

Tony Allen is one of the most impactful defenders in the league. The fact that he is a defensive stud makes him incredibly valuable.

High-end means elite talent. As in best or second best guy on a title team.

That's what Boston was chasing tonight.

I don't really get it man. We made the playoffs, it happened. We aren't tanking - we're too good. I mean what's the point in beating the dead horse. We have to just look forward, there's no point in crying over spilled milk here

Honestly? Cuz both of them suck. Rozier at least offers athletic upside...

I don't think Portis sucks, but Dekker is a bum.

Dekker had the second highest 2p% in the entire draft after Okafor. I don't think he's a bum.

I am not a fan of him at all. I don't think his game will translate to the pros, but hey; we'll see.

I kind of feel like that child who was a knicks fan and crying after Porzingas was selected. It oddly makes me feel better about my life-- does anyone have a video of it?

Yup, like driving a new car off the lot. I still wish we had a shot at Okafor or Winslow, but overall from this point forward the difference between most of these guys won't become clear for a few years. There will be a few busts taken before Rozier.

I agree but someone has to score. Our downfall last year was that our offense in the 4th quarter was "give the ball to IT and hope". We need a guy that can put the ball in the basket.

Horrible draft by the Celtics so far. It's definitely not win.

What do you think moving forward and pressing on means? We do what we can with him and hope he ends up a steal. Doesn't change what I said.

And Bledsoe is overrated

I wasn't criticizing you, dude. I was speaking in general and essentially agreeing with you. And come on; if you can get Eric Bledsoe at 16, you take it and run with it. I don't care how "overrated" he is.

Yeah, sry man I'm tried and upset

If he turns into a top-12 player in the NBA, I will happily cede that point to you.

But as usual you duck points on which you look bad. Boston couldn't trade up, as you noted they would easily. And unless Rozier is the second coming, they struck out on anything but a rotation/role player.

We'll see. I'm willing to be wrong. I doubt your worldview even allows for that kind of admission.

It's not spin, I think the Celtics still have a chance to add another impact player at 28. Good chance Rozier makes an impact day 1 on this team. Just replacing Pressey in the rotation is a substantial boost to this team.

If it's any consolation prize, they last time I felt like this after a draft was when the Pats picked McCourty... At least that turned out all right...
