Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
Nance is a good player, fear not Lakers fans. He's an excellent post-up player, finished over 80% of his shots atthe rim, he can shoot 3s, and he's one of the best-passing PFs in this draft. His athleticism is solid too, he's not some unathletic guy and he's a pretty capable defender. First round definitely seems early, but I bet you he'll be a contributor if you give him PT.

I would have gone with one of Woods or Harrell (criminally underrated). Hopefully one of the two are still there at 34 and Mitch redeems himself.

And we need ANOTHER PF like we need a hole in the head.

I hated our picks. They are too safe for my liking. Anthony Brown has basically no ceiling, why not go for someone like Upshaw, a high risk high reward player?

The Lakers are clearly valuing work ethic, character and bball IQ in this rebuild. Whether or not its a good strategy time will tell.

How can it not be good? Much rather that than stupid thugs. Quality always rises above.

Its not good if you sacrifice talent to do it. Shaq, Kobe, Bynum, Odom, Artest etc... all had issues of varying degrees but were key reasons we won. I don't think Mitch did that but some people here thing we did.

I'm really surprised they didn't use both picks to move up in the draft. I thought they wanted to minimize the amount of rookies on the team. Do you guys see both Nance and Brown making the team?

Nance gets a guaranteed deal, so its very likely he makes the team.

He's got a clean bill of health on the heart thing and he's worked at getting his life straightened out (including surrounding himself with a better class of associates) so that's probably why Mitch is giving him the benefit of the doubt and bringing him in on a Summer League contract.
If more people thought like I do, the world would be a much better place.

True. I just can't Imagine Mitch going overboard in that way.

Re: #27 #34 Draft Picks Discussion
We skipped out on Rj Hunter to draft someone we could have grabbed in the second round. Hunter and Christmas with the 31st pick would have been an A+ draft. I'm not buying the spin on Nance. Spurs wouldn't have drafted him(looking for a draft and stash) and when the best attributes of a player are his humbleness I don't think he's that good of a player.

Lots of talk about Looney for these picks. Just underwent hip surgery out 4 to 6 months

Good thing the Lakers didn't draft him as that would mean he wouldn't be able to contribute in their championship window.
