Maybe the cash is used to buy out Guillermo? Dooesn't make sense because he's seen as a stash guy needing to develop, but his buyout is listed as "unknown" on the internet. The $3 million might be earmarked for the buyout? Otherwise why not just buy up another stash pick? The money is reset now anyway.

could be used in season as well. if there wasn't a player they wanted right now im sure they could buy one.
