Went to sleep after we traded for Grant. Anything else happen concerning the Knicks? Did we get into the 2nd round? Great draft last night!

Yeah, we picked up one of Porzingis' teammates. Some Spanish guy. I am going to take a look at him this morning.

Except the pieces around him will be aging.

He's in a perfect situation. Comes off the bench next year behind Deng and Wade. Limited pressure. Will get to start the 25 games Wade misses with injury. Then in 3-4 years from now, when he's 23-24 and the pieces around him and Whiteside start to decline Miami rebuilds around cap space or uses Winslow in a trade to get better.

This is Caron Butler falling to #10 all over again.

The value, upside, and short term contributions for Winslow make him the steal of the draft at #10. He would have been a reach at #4 (which is why it's hard to completely kill the Porzingis pick as much as I want to) but it would have been a safe pick.

It's really too bad that we couldn't have traded down and picked up Winslow plus another asset.

I still think Porzingis and Grant will come out as day 1 starters. We have 26 in cap space, not 40. That can land us 2 starters and a few role players. Porzingis potential is at the Center position in a few years. Right now I'm cool with letting him play stretch 4. You're telling me he can't ouboard Thad Young Mirotic or Olynyk at 7'3 in the small ball era? I really think Phil thinks we can land Gasol or Jordan as well as a guy like Danny Green. I dont know about starting Zinger but they need to give him like 20 minutes a game to help develop his game. He's going to struggle at first but he needs to get NBA minutes.

Really didn't think Phil had the balls to pick Kristaps... really thought we were going to trade down and get a vet and pick or two (Winslow.. etc). Like KP but not at #4... but warming up to it.. getting my boy J.Grant for THjr was a great move, kid is exactly like his best friend V.Oladipo. Wish we had drafted Rakeem Christmas...

I see KP playing and producing.. offensively he is going to be good... defensively not so sure. He will be an offensive weapon.. would love to see his handle improve then he is going to a problem to contain. ..

I hate how this morning is like christmas morning to every other team out there..

Theyre opening their new nicely tied red bow and white box of russell, okafor, and towns, winslow at 10, mudaiy at 7, etc

and we are here getting grandma's sweater in Prozingis.. (and I like zinger just not sure man..)

I just wish for once we could get the real thing.. just for once..

the nets traded two 2nd round picks for the 38th pick. If that doesn't tell you that the 2 future 2nds was the going value for that pick then I don't know what else would.

…I understand just fine. Then pay for a later 2nd round pick instead. I just don’t like the move as constructed. I also realize it’s one of porzingis’ teammates. Whatever.

they made the trade because the kid wouldn't have lasted until the late 2nd round. They wanted that specific player.

He also was porzingis' teammate and they play well together. It was a natural fit. We also don't have to bring him over this year so do need to use cap space on him.

It's really a strange thing to be upset about imo. Nobody gave a damn when he was stockpiling seconds in his fire sale.

Lol. I know right.

Draft picks are only useful if they're...used. We got the guy we wanted, and that's exactly what you want to happen.

I just want to apologize publicly to the moderators for posting the Porzingis pick from Wojina. I got it from a previous post.

While I understood the order not to post picks beforehand, I honestly and truly -- and I know this may sound weird -- did not know that applied to a reporter's information. I guess I thought it was something to do with people pretending that the pick was in or posting fake information. I didn't really connect the dots on it being just no spoilers for people.

I guess that's because I thought Wojina's information was just a guess like anybody's. I didn't know it was more than just his opinion or guess, so I didn't think it would be that big a deal.

I'll apologize to them privately as well. But my intention was not to break the rules. Brain fart. I was nervous as hell! So I wanted to say this publicly first.

Again my apologies -- I won't do it again.
