sounded to me that they took Okafor partly because of Embiid uncertainty. paraphrasing: "we hope we would have had the courage to take him [Okafor] even with Joel at 100%"

Why is Eskin permitted to ask so many questions?

This was the most concerning. He couldn't answer a straight yes there.

I'm not counting on Joel anytime soon. Luckily Noel-Okafor is a very good fit though. Our lineup should look decent, probably Wroten-Thompson-Covington-Noel-Okafor. Looks good to me.

FG% among major conference players, amazing considering he was double teamed an NCAA leading 152 times (believe that's the number ESPN gave).

He really is amazing on that side of the ball.

Bad luck but we should of deff traded up.

The Log jam issue is a short term problem that is easily rectified by a trade. I don't believe that it will hold back the development of the players enough to hurt any of their trade values. If they all start turning into stars then you pick the two that play the best together and trade the other one.

If Embiid gets healthy, and Okafor dominates at the 5, then EASILY one of them could be traded either for an existing nba star wing player or for a top win prospect in the draft.

Taking Embiid's situation out of the equation for now, just think how much fun it is going to be watching the team this year with Noel and Okafor.

"Sometimes playing with Henry, sometimes playing with Furkan..."

Haha, what a depressing sentence. Welcome aboard, Jah.

Well, no Joel in Summer League. Was to be expected.

basically that he was progressing on schedule and meeting his goals and his MRIs were looking good until the latest one where something changed (not sure what), so they shut him down.

Hinkie just said he's symptom/pain free though and he feels great so they are all confused.

i don't think it helped the mood of the press conference that it was super dark and looked like it was taking place in Dracula's dungeon.

and Hinkie looked like he hadn't seen sunlight in 4 months.

I apologize if this has already been mentioned in this thread, but apparently Okafor's agent told the Sixers to pass on his client.

Sorry, but hearing "surgery isn't off the table" and then hearing there meeting with another specialist doesn't bode well in my eyes.

While I'm no professional athlete, I've had surgery before and You don't get 2nd and 3rd opinions because you like what you hear from the 1st doctor. Something is obviously wrong, and it needs attention.

Okafor is our best piece right now and the building block for our foundation.

If he needs surgery, his career is essentially over. Hoping it doesn't come to that.

Cant blame him. Considering the situation (having 2 bigs, although Embiid news could quickly change it) and being sandwiched between LA and NY agents are obviously gonna try to steer there clients to the biggest markets in sports.
