Latvia=\= Italy
Europe is a big place, for example as a British national i hate pretty much all of the rest of europe(the continentals) and think the majority of them are smelly dirty people. dont get me started on western Asians (aka eastern Europeans) most proper Europeans wont even acknowledge we come from the same continent as them.

Out of curiosity. What could we get for melo?

Post#4644 » by bleedblue3303 » Fri Jun 26, 2015 6:13 pm

If the rumors aren't true and melo is happy than great!! If they are true and we have to consider moving him. What could we realistically get for melo? What teams are realistic targets for him and have packages that would make us happy?

WELL, considering he has a no trade clause, you can immediately shrink the list to a handful of teams if that many. He's in a tough spot. Not many teams want his giant contract nor have the package to make it work. Bulls were close, but now I would say they probably aren't.,
BAF Pacers

F. Campazzo/ J. Clarkson/ K. Lewis Jr
D. Mitchell/ J. Richardson/S. Merrill
Luka/Melo
Zion/Gay/Gabriel
KAT/Kabengele

F. Mason, Jontay, J. Harris

Going to throw a name out there: Emeka Okafor...if he's ready to go.

Right now, with him coming off injury and having just signed a large contract with a no trade clause? Probably not as much as he should get. No idea what that something is.

From the teams he'd consider

Clippers- some expiring deals and a 1st Rounder

who else would he consider???

Bulls- no they fired Thibs
Lakers- no they have no one to help him
Rockets- why would he play for McHale
Mavs- no one wants to play there
Heat- why? without LeBron?
Cavs-he doesn't even leave his hotel room when he's in Cleveland

Yep, very few teams. I suggested Washington. He'll want a contending team and we'll get a young, non-essential player + picks in return.

I'm thinking maybe a couple of 1st round picks and a decent young player. If we did trade Melo, I would rather us go after Tobias Harris in free agency than waste any amount of money on Monroe

Why not the Hawks? They have a Coach of the Year winner, won 60 games, and got to the ECF. They just need a go-to scorer. If they kept Millsap and added Melo, that would be the best team Melo's ever been on, would it not? Why would he say no?

That said, I don't know what the Knicks would get aside from a lot of 1st round picks.

I'd take a $20m ham sandwich for him, as long as it was expiring.

Yes melo has a no trade claus but I think his wish list would expand if he was not happy here.

Does he put Orlando over the top. Maybe Mario and their center?
Even Golden state Klay and Harrison Barnes.
Atlanta? before they had this team they were looking for a star?
Toronto? would he be willing to be the biggest star in Canada?
Boston? Give us all your upcomming draft picks.
My wish would be Philly for lakers pick next year and one of their bigs.

i'd offer him up to the lakers for russell. if we get laughed at, we get laughed at. it would have been less than what they would have given up for boogie.
