Roddy could make an NBA team. He did very well in the French league last season. He just needs to make his 3's.

 There's that spark off the bench we needed. Temple and Sessions are guaranteed, I hope Wells has a shot at making the team.
Way to go Ernie :D

Really hope Roddy makes the team. I'd rather have Marco or Beverley, but Roddy has always been on my list. Much better option than what we have.

MD Alumn here.. big fan of Dez.

He has the potential to be a bench contributor in the NBA, and at the cost of nothing, is well worth it.

Prior to this season I would have described him as an incredibly poor mans Dwayne Wade. Not necessarily the greatest 3 pt shooter (but improving), but great at finishing around the basket and a very aggressive player.

Highlights vs Wisconsin this year:

You guys must not live in the DMV...or watch much ACC or Maryland b'ball. Wells has been the Terps top player the last two years. Hard-nosed kid who plays some of his best ball when the game is on the line. Not much of a shooter, he's a SG who often scored a lot of points in the paint in college, which he won't be able to do at the next level.

Nevertheless, I think he has a chance of making an NBA team because of his toughness, physicality and moxie. He's also a good friend and former HS teammate of JWall.

(As a long-time Maryland fan)Dez is a little undersized for a 3-man in the NBA and might not be quick enough for the 2. He's strong and athletic. Should be able to defend at the NBA level. Doesn't mind taking charges and is smart. Not sure if he can shoot well enough to be a rotation player. He's more of a mid-range who made 25 of 49 three-pointers last year. He didn't take many but made over 50% of the ones he took. Ballhandling needs work as well.

Im told Wells was asked if he'd go to Europe before 49th pick was made. Said no. Rather prove it this way #WizardsTalk @CSNWizards #NBA

Interesting. If I'm reading that correctly, it sounds like we were prepared to draft Wells at #49 but only if he'd go overseas and develop on someone else's dime without taking up a roster spot. When he said no, we moved on to someone else who would go overseas.

Of course, in another tweet, it was said that it's up to Aaron White whether or not he wants to play overseas or not. So who knows?

Wells, a 6-4 shooting guard who averaged 15 points as a senior for the Terrapins, is expected to make the 15-man roster for the 2015-16 season because of his ability to score and it fills a need off the bench.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I suppose the Wizards wanted to be in the Dez Wells business; once he called their bluff, they told him that they'd hold a roster spot for him. If that's the case, and if Wells does well in summer league, then it's smart: they get to have their cake (Wells on the roster) and eat it, too (White can develop overseas and come back after another year's worth of strength training).
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Bottom line - he's got to convince folks that he's dramatically improved his long distance shooting to have a realistic shot at the NBA - being a 23 year old rookie. He has some good traits - he's a very physical and willing defender, and he will go hard to the basket - though he's a sloppy ball-handler at times. Did I mention he's a physical player? He is - physical. And aggressive. And strong. In the Lance Stevenson mold.

Got it, Wall's close friend (and likely hanging out constantly past 4 years) and UMD player.

In other words it was a kind gesture to our franchise player to keep his best friend in DC.

Robert Upshaw agreed to play for the Lakers SL team. I''m predicting he's the SL MVP.

Wells shrank on the big stage during the NCAA Tournament, people remember that.

A lot of us saw this coming months ago. EG clearly wants to keep wall happy, and its easy to do when Wells is a pretty good player, with a good work ethic. that being said, Dez wells is not a bad shooter, in the sense that he has the ability to make shots, he just needs to work on not forcing shots and his shot selection. He has good 3 pt range he just does not take many, but his % over the years are pretty good though. The same things that every one else said applies. Willing and tough defender, strong, willing to drive and good at it, the kind of guy randy likes. He will go as far as his will takes him. I like the fact that wells is like naw im not going to Europe, but im sure he understands that no one else was going to draft him and he probably said ill take a summer league spot and earn my spot, take another guy and get another asset. I saw a report that he is expected to make the 15 man team, as long as he works hard and puts up good numbers I don't see why he can't do that.
