Meh I'm sure he'll get to Philly and love it. At this point Embiid is a bonus. Nerlens and Okafor are our front court

Everyone always says that you must take BPA but very few people actually mean it.

Agreed.

If Boston got him : Jalen Rose "OKAY BIG FELLA! Boston got there next Bill Russell/Robert Parrish. Props to Danny Ainge
If LA got him: Lakers land the next dominant Laker big man, destined for title
If NY got him:Knicks land best big man since Ewing, Melo is happy, Spike Lee has a erection and The big apple is back.

Gotta love it. Hopefully he can help bring Sixer basketball back to relevance.

Is that the Maestro Vasilije Micic on the left? I think it's time to bring him over here. We've got a glaring hole at PG after all.

It is. He had a great game against team USA being guarded by Marcus Smart and Elfrid Payton in that tourney.

Welcome Okafor

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet, but just imagine how much better these guys are going to get practicing against each other.

My bet is that day one(assuming Embiid is out) that Okafor will be our best player and will become the focus of our offense.

If he was initially disappointed by being picked by us I think he will quickly come around to loving it. The Sixers will be great for him. If the real log jam happens eventually it will only be because of Embiid's health getting in order, and it will be a great problem to have.

Okafor is going to be a stud for us or someone else and should have a great career.

At the end of the day Money talks and all these people who are saying, what are we gonna do if all 3 become productive players at similar positions which means teams will try and low ball us with offers or that none of them would want to come of the bench are forgetting that the salary cap is increasing immensely and we can pay these guys bucket loads of dollars when or if we have that problem but for now we have them on the cheap and since Embiid is still questionable a starting front court of Noel and Okafor is going to be dominant as hell, I mean didn't Noel play along side WCS who isn't as good as Okafor. Just tell Embiid when he is finally healthy that He needs to come off the bench for his own good next year or for the rest of his career even because of his foot and pay him a bucket load still for the 25mins a game he'll be playing posting up 15-10-2. I don't see this as a problem at all and I'm excited getting a dude that led his team to a title this year. Welcome to Philly, I hope you stay and have a successful career.

@nbadraftblog: Biggest thing I’ll stand by from 2015 draft is the Lakers will regret passing up Okafor for Russell.

If Lakers doesn't eye to land a big man, signs pointing to LMA, do you guys think they'd pass up Oka for Russ? Because I don't.

I think we got lucky with the Lakers' situation, because we got value. And as much as I want to say Oka doesn't fill a team need, we need to be conservative in dealing with Embiid's situation. And I think Noel and Oka makes a good fit. While ending up with a Ben Simmons next year could help us deal a relatively low probability "black swan" event with Biid.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Nah, I rather hold onto Saric and see what he can do on the floor before trading his rights away. We have the potential to get four first round picks next year, and we can use those pick to solve our guard problem. This year is all about developing our big mens and seeing how they mesh. I think Okafor is going to put up big numbers.

Hello,

Old Sixers fan here :)

I understand a little disapoitment, I'm also disapointment, because we didnt get Russell (i love this guy), but hey - we have Okafor.
Okafor in my opinion fits well.

We have good 3pt shooters in Hollis, Cov, Caanan, Grant. I hope Hinkie will finally bring Jordan McRae to Philly.
We have Noel, who is amazing defensively and will complement Okafor - hes faster, much better shot blocker, etc.

Last year we had Noel/Aldemir/Sims/LRMAM/T-Rob and we won 18 games. Now we're gonna have Okafor/Noel/Aldemir which is HUGE upgrade (and hopefully Joel which will be AMAZING)

If Hans is healthy Hinkie will figure it out - we don't have to pay them extension now, we don't have to trade them now. There is enough time for them - especially if Noel plays at 4. Talent wise - with Joel I think we'll have chance for PO. (best scernario ofk.)

Long term - naturally we have to get rid one of them, but now? We have to be patient - our youngs have to learn a lot, no need to panic and for example bring Ty Lawson, etc. This team with Okafor will be much, much better, with Embiid and Okafor we crash all boards in the league :)

It's crazy, but we in this season we have chance to bring agruably 2 the best players to our roster (if Joel comes back) and we'll have 2 better players than our last season best

Obviously i love Nerlens - he's my favourite Sixer, he's amazing i defensive end. But as JO, Joel - thay are game changers. Okafor alone changes the game, if both of them will come back, we're finally home - We have to trade one of them for PG/SG/SF All-star + we still own picks of Miami, Lakers, OKC, which allows as to trade for need/draft for need.

With JO only it sound really good.
With Okafor+ healthy Joel it sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
