I'll take your word for it...

But I don't EVER remember Carmelo or Dwight EVER expressing interest in playing for the Hawks...

Ever.[/quote]

I dont remember Howard or melo saying they have interest either; all im saying is that the reporters who list us as a landing spot for LMA & Melo are the same reporters who listed us as a landing spot for dwight and carmelo. Did a quick google searchand found a libk where ferry said the meeting with Dwight went "well".

According to Bud; Sap and Carroll will be re-signed with a couple small pieces added. THJ was obviously one of the pieces! Likely roster next season:

Horf / Antic / Edy
Sap / Moose / Scott
Carroll / Thabo
Korver / Baze / THJ
JT / Schro / Mack

Plus or minus Scott/Mack and a couple similar FAs. Tavares will spend the year Dleague as he's far from ready. Not encouraging if you want progress and the team has less upside than last year.

We need to back the truck up for LaMarcus Aldridge!! Al & LaMarcus would create the best front Dual in the east by far AND WOULD GIVE US THE STAR POWER WE NEED!!

Dwight met with us just like the other teams 3 or 4 teams which was the extent of his interest. we were a very distance 4th ish option like we are on aldridge list.

Melo was a bunch of BS. people were seriously trying to connect Lala's history in ATL to melo's willingness to come here.

Somewhat disappointing. But Edy wasn't going to contribute this season. And on the bright side, we apparently own the rights to the best Center in EuroCup...a wonderfully valuable asset:

Speights, Ajinca & Biyombo would make very worthwhile targets.

Javale & Blatche are locker room killers. They should be avoided at all costs.

Unsure how much Leandro, at his age, has in the tank after a long title run...

I agree with Jamal, except for Biyombo. And Barbosa gives you exactly what Dennis can give you, no need for duplicity.

That guy Biyombo is not that good on the offensive end but can rebound and play some D.Blatche is the unlucky version of J. Smith. Speights fits well our system. Mcgee should never play basketball for any team at any point. He's mentally incapable of understanding schemes, rotations, drills, or any other basketball related activity.

I get trying to do our due diligence with Draymond and meeting with him, but I just hope we do it quickly because there's no way GS is letting him go with the cap rising next year and coming off a championship campaign.

I am sorry but I do not see how any of those players can help our team and, most importantly, how can they fit in our system.
None of them can shoot while being a big (except for Blatche and may be Speights), can pass while being a big or is versitile enough to play with us.
Blatche and Speights can shoot, but the first one is nuts and the second one does not understand the concept team sport.

On a different subject, I am completely surprised that we are not interested in Monroe. He is to be meeting with 5 teams, among who we are not.
Are we sold on Aldridge or Gasol?

If we can't bring in a big name and Carroll and Sap get priced too high; I'd look at signing:

A Ajinca; less than half the price of Sap and we have a CENTER
D Williams; big SF that can shoot
M Dunleavy; big SF that can shoot
C Aldrich; solid third C at minimum cost

Trade: Mack and a fair amount of picks for J Henson

Ajinca / Henson / Aldrich
Horf / Moose / Scott
Dunleavy / Williams / Thabo
Korver / THJ / Baze
JT / Schro

No more BIG problem. Boards and blocks through the roof.Good shooting and improved athleticism on the wings. Dunleavy and Williams battle to start. Aldrich could be replaced with a better shooter if we want another streach big.

Draymond the backup plan to losing Sap?

Is Green more productive than Sap? You comfortable with a max deal for him?

If Sap is smart, he lets Green get his deal, then ask for the same.

Even if we could bring those guys back, I think a D will signing would be a good move for us. Would be a fairly cheap guy to bring of the bench. Maybe after finding a team that can actually develop him like we did with Carroll, it would benefit both parties.
