Anthony Bennett
Let's hypothesise, the Pacers deal Hibbert and a second round pick for Bennett and include a third team that actually needs Hibbert. Would you be happy?
I think Anthony Bennett would be a very solid addition for the 4-spot and he has some experience in the league now. He isn't a franchise leader, but in my opinion certainly could be a contender-PF.

Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Re: Anthony Bennett
Why do you have any sort of confidence in Bennett? He's been trash everywhere he's been. Both Cleveland and Minnesota, he's sucked.

We wouldn't need to include a pick to get Bennett.
Otherwise, I would only have interest in Bennett if he had David West to learn under. Not only is Bennett not a franchise leader, he has yet to prove that he belongs in the NBA, at all. AND, he makes $6m this year, and we would have to decide on his 4th year option before the season starts for $7.3m (declined, for sure).

Re: Anthony Bennett
I actually would consider this trade. Vogel is great at developing young guys. This guy flashed some potential last season. He could end up being similar to Draymond Green which is very ideal for a faster paced offense. Also imagine the flexibility on defense. Switches off screens wouldnt matter.

Please I am not alone Rod. In my opinion it is too soon to write him off. Sure it was a dumb first round pick and the trade to the Wolves didn't help him at all, but if you look at his skill-set and what he could be? Why not? I think people need to look a bit beyond the hype/press with this kid and start looking at what he can do.

The one thing Bennett can do, is pick up a basketball.
Shine it up real nice.
Turn it sideways
and stick it straight up his candy ass.

It's really hard when he's not only done nothing, but he's been actively very bad when he was on the court. I lived in Cleveland. I saw him suffer through the worst basketball ever played. He has severe asthma, too. He's got a lot going against him. He didn't have to think at UNLV. He could just try and be athletic. Problem is, in the NBA, he's not above average athletically anymore, especially when the asthma flares up.

He wasnt bad last season in Minnesota. He had a bad year in Cleveland. But him being a 'bad player' logic is outdated. He demonstrated a lot of skills from good passing, ball handling, using his body to get position, a decent medium range touch and going to the rim with force. He still is only 22.

Re: Anthony Bennett
I could find a highlight tape of Adam Morrison from the Bobcats if I really wanted to, that doesn't make him a good player though.
Anthony Bennett just really isn't good. He barely improved at all between the Cavs and Wolves, I don't know what you're seeing. Dude never should've been picked #1, and we wouldn't pick up his 4th year option if we had him, most likely. You'd get just as much production out of some washed up vet to be honest.

Unfortunately, No. Lots of season ticket holders, but no regular posters that have legitimately worked for the Pacers.

Re: Anthony Bennett
I don't see the value of overpaying him this season. He may develop into a nice player, but I don't see him progressing past a serviceable 6th man type guy ever in his career. I think there are much better options out there.
