Gallo is not the most exciting option, and he's gonna be pretty worn out from his injuries, but it's not like we have a lot of options either. I'd do a trade with Crawford, Wilcox and Austin on a S&T for him, if the Nuggets can't get anything better (which I doubt). Then we'd have to build our big man rotation from minimum salary players, but I guess I'd do it anyway.

I always thought he defended hard in NY…but never knew how his metrics shook out.
But I've always been a fan. I would enjoy him here.

I was just thinking, since Paul Pierce opted out from his Wiz's option, all the leverage is on PP and from what i have read so far, he would like to come to us but still get paid at MLE, not MMLE. so....

why not trade Crawford to the Wiz for PP in a sign and trade? they get a vet who can come off the bench (or wave him for cap room) and still be very effective offensively, especially in a weak conference. then we get PP in Crawford's salary, then still have MMLE to offer Alexis Ajinca.

if possible, this move can solve major part of our problems and have a starting SF and a backup center that are worth having.

CP
JJ
PP
BG
DJ
Lance
AA

baby doc

that's a pretty decent 9 men rotation, then add Lester Hudson and Jordan Hamilton and we have a serviceable 11 men deep roster. I personally think Lester has a better projection than most people think, and Hamilton at least have the size to play the position if needed.

If they waive Jamal for cap room, it doesn't make sense. They are paying $1.5 million to Jamal in order to allow Pierce to get more money and go to the Clippers in that scenario. They would be better off just letting Pierce go wherever he wants

yeah I was pretty drink when i posted that, but what i meant was for them to keep Jamal as their offensive sub and the worst case scenario was to wave him if something would not work out at the initial phase prior to his contact being guaranteed. the more likely scenario if they are not keeping him would be for them to use Jamal as their Luke Ridnour and package him elsewhere.

kids, let this be a lesson to you and don't post drunk. your logic and short term memories are toast.

Would you guys be interested in a Birdman Anderson and Shabazz Napier for Crawford's non guaranteed deal?

Sounds good. We need to shed some salary to pay Wade. Figured you guys would be interested because you get a young PG in Napier to groom behind Paul and also a backup C in Anderson who has an expiring deal next year. This move saves us about 6.6 million to pay Wade. You guys are happy getting two depth pieces. Hopefully this deal goes down.

pretty much exactly why. i love birdman as a backup dude. and literally any young talent we can get our hands on at this point is a huge get given our current minimal resources.

too bad we can't just email this to steve ballmer and pat riley have them sign it off by tonight.

I have been researching non guaranteed contracts all over the NBA and Crawford's stuck out like a sore thumb and also the lack of depth you guys have. We have very limited options for a salary dump. Utah has Trevor Booker but also has a ton of young guard depth. Anderson and Chalmers for Trevor Booker works in the trade checker. It just seems like a ton of salary for Utah to take on though. This deal with you guys make so much more sense. Hopefully i get a few more responses on the pulse of this deal. Thanks for chiming in.

sounds like a great deal except can we swap Napier for James Ennis?

Doc's already made it public that Lance will be a ball handling utility player, aka backup PG and his boy Austin is also coming back. I also love Lester Hudson's game and fit with us, but we are in desperate need of a backup wing player even if Paul Pierce signs with us. if you need more cap space, you can take Jordan Hamilton's non guaranteed contact and give us both Napier and Ennis. I believe this will allow your team to shed another million or so. if the deal is after july 10th, we can even include Lester's non-guaranteed million, and you have 7.5+ cap space minus buyout on Jamal, while shedding Birdman+Shabazz+Ennis+another filler to maximize both of our needs
ehhhhh f it.

Ennis could very well be a possibility as the throw in. Either or as long as we are shedding Bird's salary. Thought Napier would be more sought after by you guys as a pure young backup PG.

Meh, scratch that idea. turns out Lester and Hamilton's money can't be counted on so Jamal's contract is the only thing that counts on trade checker. I will gladly take the original offer of Birdman and Shabazz. compared Ennis to Hamilton and we are probably better off re-signing Jordan Hamilton to a minimum deal as well.

I'd love to do that! Crawford's salary for next season is fully guaranteed if not waived by tomorrow though, so it'd have to be done like now.

Another possibility is, if you guys decide you can actually use Jamal off the bench, Crawford+CJ Wilcox+Hamilton+Hudson (last two are unguaranteed) for Birdman and McRoberts, which also sheds a bit of salary next season and quite a bit long term. This has to be done after the moratorium, and you'd probably have to add a sweetener.

My favorite one is (and you probably don't like it as much) that same package + another sweetener from us for Luol Deng, if you want to make Winslow your starting SF. It works under the 125% rule in the CBA, but we'd have to send some sort of pick, and I'm not sure Riley is looking for that.

I'm surprised Jamal is still here. Thought he'd be dealt by now so another team could waive him.

yeah, looks like Doc's coming out party is more or less the same as the year before, and the year before that one......

as of now, our second unit will look like

Austin (can't shoot)
Jamal (can't defend or operate a functional offensive team plays)
Lance(can't shoot)
Dawson(can't shoot)
Baby (assuming he would come back at minimum)

so we would have one ballhog and four guys who can't space the floor. urk.
this is so reminiscent of Stacey Patton's Knicks from Eddie.

Or Doc might be doing Jamal a solid and trade him after his contract becomes guaranteed so he can get his money.
