I stand corrected. Either way, GM's should be stingy with role players. You can get players like Biz later in the draft. Many college players come into the league as specialists or having one specific skill. The ones who fall are not well-rounded. Biz is not well-rounded. And when push comes to shove, Kaminsky and Cody should be viable backup centers. I'd rather take that 6-7 from Biz and allocate it to a 6th man like Lamb.

I've been saying this for 2 years now. Im glad you came around. Biyombo is overrated. I saw someone say hes one of the best rebounders and shot blockers in the league. If he was, we would have offered him a 4 year deal at around 60 million, and Jefferson would be gone.

Deandre Jordan is one of the best rebounders and shot blockers in the league. Biyombo is not,.

DeAndre Jordan: 3.3 blocks per 100 possessions (14th in the NBA), 22 rebounds per 100 possessions (3rd in the NBA)
Bismack Biyombo: 4.1 blocks per 100 possessions (5th in the NBA), 16.9 rebounds per 100 possessions (8th in the NBA)

If top 10 in both categories isn't elite to you, I don't know what to tell you.

I think its rather obvious that one is way, way better than the other. You and I have been on the other side of the fence regarding Biyombo for a while. Biyombo just is not as great as people think he is.

He's elite at those two things, while doing squat at mostly everything else. We've got Jefferson, Kaminsky, Zeller, and Hawes doing that "everything else" bit, and none of them is EVER going to be an elite rim protector or rebounder. Zeller will be the only average or better player in that group defensively. With Vonleh's defensive potential gone and two more nonfactors defensively, Biz has never been more important than he is now to us.

Biz is going to make you guys look silly when he goes to a real team.

Replace Biz with Vonleh or Gerald Henderson or Lance Stephenson or Justice Winslow and I still agree with you.

I'm not saying I don't want to keep him. I do, but 7 million a year? If there were other teams chomping at the bit to get him we would have given him that QO immediately, and even extended him.

This 7 to 8 mill a year stuff should stop though. At least in my humble opinion

He may very well do it. Wouldn't be the first time.

So it seems like we're all in agreement that we should definitely lock him up if a 4/20m or 3/15m deal is possible, but we're split on anything $6 million and above. Personally I'd be fine with either. I can understand if we don't match a poison pill offer but if another team manages to get Biz to agree to a cheap multi-year deal and we don't even match it will be seriously disheartening.
