I know Monroe to NYK is supposedly a done deal but if we can get him in the door I don't think it would be too hard of a sale to come here. He wants to be the missing piece on a winning team. We won 41 games with Zaza starting 45 games and averaging 9.8pts/8.3reb/2.8ast and Ersan starting 36 games putting up 12.8pts/5.4reb/1.1ast. Replace that with Monroe's 15.9pts/10.2reb/2.1ast and Jabari 13.2pts/5reb/2.5ast (last ten games) and I think we could be looking at a 50 win team. He would absolutely be the missing piece here. Show him all of the plans for the new Arena, new practice facility, the Marquette/Bucks Athletic Performance Research Facility, etc. Make him feel wanted, that he is our guy just like we did with Jabari before last years draft. Sell him on our young roster of up and coming stars and a Hall of Fame Coach that's been in the playoffs every year for the last 19 years.
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

We were a top defensive team last year without the rim protector people are going on and on about. We need scoring and rebounding from out front court and Monroe provides that. He's also young enough to where I have faith Kidd and his coaching staff can turn him into a capable defender.

The Bucks were good most of the time with Zaza in there but when it counted in the playoffs, only Henson was able to show up some of the time. The Bulls were able to constantly get into the paint and there was no help defender there, or the Bucks had to double down into the paint leaving open a wide open 3ptr. I'd rather not sign any of these FA Cs tbh.

So what would keep us from going with some big lineups with Monroe at PF? Do you think a Giannis/Monroe/Henson lineup would've been ok defensively against Chicago?

MCW/Vasquez/Bayless/Ennis
Middleton/Mayo/Vaughn
Jabari/Giannis/Dudley
Giannis/Monroe/Inglis
Monroe/Henson/Zaza/Plumlee

I don't think anyone besides Henson some of the time can handle Gasol and/or Taj. The problem was Rose and Butler were taking MCW and Middleton off the dribble, or hitting open 3s when MCW/Middleton were trying to take away the penetration. You need a good help defender in the middle who can come to the penetration while walling off the passing lane to his man. They can't rely on the trapping defense all the time since it requires immense energy to execute properly and leaves open wide open 3s if the offense just keeps swinging around.

MCW and Henson for Bledsoe. Add a top ten lotto protected number one to it.

That time will never pass my friend. We need to get on the phone asap if true.

Add Bledsoe and Rolo/Chandler? 50 wins next year in the bank and earning interest.

Not sure how to guess what these guys will get offered. If Knicks were targeting Monroe with a long-term max offer, for example, why would he be talking 2-years? His interest in a short contract probably reflects that his offers will be somewhat limited in some ways, whether that be length only or probably also in dollars. Where the Bucks would fall relative to the market, who knows.

If Kidd wants him, he'd need to be selling him on the Bucks future; on Kidd's ability to help guys get better; and on how playing on a young, winning team that plays smart, fundamental basketball is a lot more fun than playing on a loser. And for a kid from a 20-thousand-population, maybe living in Milwaukee would be relatively nice.

Actually I thought Henson struggled vs Taj, and his success against Gasol came after Zaza was leaning on him for a quarter and Pau's legs were so tired that he would try to lean on Henson and Henson pulled the chair. I think if we replay that series with Giannis replacing Ersan at PF, Jabari replacing Giannis at SF, and adding another big body in Monroe that can play Center or PF the outcome is a whole lot different. Zaza was way too slow to play minutes at PF next to Henson, but Monroe can handle it and Giannis/Monroe at PF is a huge upgrade over Ersan/Dudley.

I would trade for Bledsoe in a second.

And I am one of the few that actually like MCW and think he could have a future with us. Not so much if we can land Bledsoe.

Done deal for us. I cannot see why the Suns would do it.

I don't think MCW or Henson fits their offense at all. They are looking for a SF that can score like a Rudy Gay etc.

A max contract this summer starts at $15,768,500 with 4.5% raises each year. If we sign him to a 3 year max deal with the third year as a player option he will be able to resign a max deal in two years starting at $30,456,000 with 7.5% raises. The salary cap is going from ~$67.1mil this year to ~$108mil in 2017-18.

Monroe's flexibility is indeed intriguing. Playing Henson/Monroe together situationally could be effective.

It's great to see all these quality names linked to discussions with Milwaukee.

I think Biyombo or Robin Lopez will be the perfect money/value/future signings for MKE this summer.
