I like blake, my biggest worry with jack going is leadership, but blake is very similar in that regard. hard worker and and great leader. What we lose in penetration we gain on defense and range shooting.

my biggest concern with jack going is that we then literally dont have 1 player (other then loez but he is a center) who can beat their man off the dribble and get to the rim.

yeah, that is what I'm seriously afraid of, the Nets will get zero paint penetration without Jack. D-Will couldn't get around a folding chair at this point.

Plus he had a bad ankle injury.
His dumb stuff in college was his mom taking money on the side.

He was a top rated recruit though.

I think he had issues with Kansas coach too from what I remember... that plus the whole money on the side+ injuries+ didn't impress in draft workouts.

Exactly. She used the money to pay bills. That is the NCAA for you. He lost eligibility because of it. So instead of being a top 8 pick in 2 years he went undrafted and likely lost millions.

He also pulled a JO move when he picked colleges. He had Illinois and Kansas hats next to each other and faked like he was going to put the Illinois hat on. It showed that he is immature as an 18 year old. Lots of kids are.

This might be the shot of reality that he needs though. He needed to be humbled and he was. Getting this kid with a chip on his shoulder and his ego damaged is a good thing. Hollins can be the tough father figure this kid needs.

He has that Charles Barkley, Elton Brand lower body strength you rarely see in a big guy. He has potential to be a bully on the block once he hones his sloppy skills. I think he will be very good in 2 years if he works his azz off.

He hurt himself at one of his workouts.

I dont know if he had issues at Kansas but it wouldnt surprise me. He seemed entitled coming out of high school. This might be the best thing for him. He needed to learn humility and I think he has.

I think he had issues with Kansas coach too from what I remember... that plus the whole money on the side+ injuries+ didn't impress in draft workouts.

In an interview, he said he was dealt a bad deck of cards at Kansas.

People went crazy and couldn't believed that he apparently badmouthed Kansas and used it as an excuse.

So someone went and interviewed Bill Self about the statement and here's what Self said:

Self, meanwhile, pushed back against the idea that Alexander was hurt by comments he made about Kansas during the pre-draft process. In multiple interviews, Alexander referred to getting dealt “a bad deck of cards” while at Kansas. In the moments after the draft on Thursday, ESPN analyst Jay Bilas wondered aloud on air if the comments may have scared off NBA teams.

“He did get dealt a bad hand,” Self said. “That’s exactly what I told Cliff all along. Cliff always said what I told him: He got dealt a bad hand with the NCAA. He got dealt a bad hand.

“That’s what I told him, when it all went down with the NCAA, I said, ‘Cliff, you haven’t done anything wrong, you’ve been dealt a bad hand. You just got to hang in there and deal with whatever.’

In Self’s view, Alexander was not being negative toward Kansas.

“That wasn’t a negative toward Kansas at all, to say he got dealt a bad hand,” Self said. “I asked him about it, and he said, “Coach, that’s what you told me.’ And I said, ‘That’s exactly right, bud. That’s exactly what I told you.’”

People just love drama stories even though there wasn't anything there.

I'd recommend reading the entire article. It's good.

The NCAA is so corrupt I can't blame any of these kids for violating their garbage rules.
